"Most of my tools were found objects...probably should have gotten some professional tools earlier." I know that feel haaha. I used only an X-Acto knife (one small and one large) for years. Only recently did I get some actual sculpting tools. I'm amazed I was able to do anything after using proper instruments (like I was making hands before with just a knife? Wut? How?). Now I have to decide if I want Gnomes (more models for the pile of shame) or nice sculpting tools (already have some good ones). Ugh.....Christmas is coming and I haven't done any shopping for anyone. Are you able to get the Gnomes with square bases? They'd make a great army for Kings of War/God of Battles/Warhammer Fantasy. Also, will you be showing footage of the entire Gnome sculpt? Would love more tutorials, especially on models that are single-part casts/molds.

I'm so glad to find a someone with a shared experience on tools. Funny you should ask about square bases. My supplier is having a hard time securing a stock of the small round ones, so all of the gnomes may end up on 20mm squares. I have a good stock pile of square bases so if it shouldn't be a problem to send your set with square bases if you remind me. And yes! Next video will be the full sculpt of this lovely gnome lady.

@@TomMasonSculptor glad to know they are EU based. I recently bought sculpting tools from army painter at local store but I haven't been able to use them due to house moving. But for the future it would be a nice addition if I need some extra! Thanks

Nice tools can be pricey. Don't over extend yourself, but they are an investment and you grow to appreciate the value over time.

Those are usually used for trimming away polyclay. Especially for concave areas. I never found much use for that with miniature but it’s very useful on larger sculptures.
