My prediction: Zillow and Redfin will merge someday. Redfin agents then handle the bulk of the Z leads.

I don’t think the Zillow model you’re talking about would work. First off very few people keep the mortgage for more than 5 years. Second, lenders get loans off their books as soon as possible by selling off to the secondary market. If Zillow is aiming to keep all the loans on their books, they’re going to have to buy out a bank.
