Very impressive looking helicopters. I can't wait to see those birds take flight. Awesome!

Development takes time and all great companies have to start someplace. Hill Helicopters has achieved a lot in short amount of time. I have a masters in mechanical engineering and I feel confident the HX50 and HC50 will be successful and built as planned. Might take a bit longer, but they will do it and I’m happy to be an owner of each. Great reveal! Congrats to the entire team! The ships look amazing!!!!

The date for a flying version is still just a guess at this point so I don't want to make a prediction. Let's take it one day at a time, but the progress has been staggering.

There was a time where I was in your court as well. What I have seen though over the last year has made me a believer. They have come so far on so many fronts at the same time that I truly do believe it will be a great helicopter that will fly. Now timeline is still quite up in the air for me.

Did they have engines and gearboxes installed or were they just a shell?

Gearbox was installed I believe in order to support the head and blades but there would have been no engine installed yet.

@@shazam6274 This will be some kind of ''Kit helicopter'' that the buyer will be required to assemble at the factory with the help of the technicians and engineers. This helicopter will be in the category of amateur-built experimental aircraft and will not need the numerous years and costs involved in having it fully certified before being put in production. The private owners themselves will in fact be the '' paying test pilots '' who will provide data , and money, for an eventual full certification for commercial use...I just hope this is not another ''Ocean Gate Titanic submarine Composite innovation'' that ended up in you know what....One thing is for sure: ONE, only one crash of this helicopter and the rest is history...Good luck anyway,,,

In the coming financial crash I would not pay want to pay up front for something that might not happen for many years. It hasn’t run and will be long time getting passed the CAA and the bureaucratic lethargy that they operate under. It looks wonderful but paying for development with sales money is downright stupid act by the customers. The concept is brilliant but the thing hasn’t even started up the engine yet. There are so many potential trip ups with such a concept. I wish them well but dealing with aviation means very deep pockets to pay the certification costs of the EASA/ CAA/ FAA. Etc.

Worse comes to worse they can go experimental and do a build assist program, which would make approval easier!

Hope this doesn’t turn out like Nikola Corporation. A company spending money on presentations and show kinda makes me suspicious. However for hill this may be required as they need to raise money for development!
