Installing the pedal assembly and going over and over it is a place I have been. It does get easier. I’m pretty sure the pedals are supposed to be slightly offset. I have never seen a way to make them otherwise.

Yessir! I’m using Berryman Chem-Dip Carburetor Parts Cleaner. You can get them by the gallon on Amazon. Good luck on your restoration
