My two favorite days of the week, 1) any day when I am riding, 2) any day when DC drops a new video! No matter what you are describing or reviewing, even if it is something I would likely not be interested in, I will always watch your entire video. You have earned my trust and your respect no matter what you are covering.

Fit talk. -I’m starting to see more and more value with Factor, Orbea and RIbble as they offer us the option to choose our stem length and bar width. Massively underrated in 2024/2025

Right! Same with the colors. I can choose between two (!) colors if I’m looking for a canyon Aeroad with force or an normal cannondale/specialized frame (Hi-MOd/no s-works). The Tarmac SL8 with Force is only available in one color 👎.

over 20min review and did not get a good view of the bike. which should be the star of the video . what size is the frame? the bars can be narrowed down to 37 width so a litttle confused you stated min is 40cm. Cockpit Dimensions 80 - [370-420] 90 - [370-420] 90 - [370-420] 100 - [370-420] 110 - [370-420] 110 - [370-420] 120 - [370-420]

140 size rotors makes sense on the extra small bike. That’s all the breaking power you need as a small person. Remember about the top bike so they tried to keep the weight down.

FYI, the optional aero bar ends has 10mm longer reach effectively making it same as 100mm stem.
@Gianniz274 ай бұрын
But u can now order different size of Pace bars (stems) from 70mm to 140mm.
@Tim1768-r5r4 ай бұрын
SRAM Red instead of Dura Ace would have added additional 10mm 😊

That's the new standard shimano spec. My supersix came the same way. I switched out the cassette to 11-34 & shortened the crank to 170mm but stayed 52-36. I suffer when it gets steep but I still get there! The problem with the tires is probably sealant! With the silca sealant my current set of gp5000's just got thier first plug since set up in October & 3000+ miles! The tan walls get pretty gross though, I go for the all black.
@otterspacejam4 ай бұрын
Many people run 52-34 with no issues. Technically this violates Shimano's tooth drop spec but as far as out of spec settings go this one is fairly tame and helps a lot in the hills. You can just buy a 34t inner ring and swap it over.
@joekawasaki4 ай бұрын
@otterspacejam cycling is something I do to stay in shape so as long as it's not 20% I can still make it! Most of the climbs near me top out at 14-15% & many just 9% so as long as I'm not heading for the alps I'm ok!

Great choice! Canyon says on their website you can make the standad handlebars 37 cm in the smallest setting. Isn't that possible with yours?

He can and he will. He mentioned it in the video toward the end.

This, the Sl8, the aethos, and the new madone are on my shortlist for my next bike. I’m just assuming the 3 race bikes are fast, any differences won’t matter to someone of my talent level and the aethos is the outlier for just being interesting. The biggest factors for me are how stiff is the bottom bracket and head tube when sprinting and climbing, and, most importantly, how comfortable is it? At this point fast is nice, stiff BB is nice, but if I get beat up my experience tells me that I’m the type of rider to cut a long ride short and/or ride less. Before anyone says, I’m not interested in an endurance bike, those don’t do enough for my comfort to make me want to sacrifice my desire for a race geo.

Do you want to sell the [Conti GP 5000 S TR tan wall] after you remove them? Did you know, the tan wall are a different tire than the black ones? On BRR (Bicycle Rolling Resistance) they test completely differently. Anyhow, I might buy them if you might sell them??

Question! I am looking to buy a new road bike - I’m stuck and can’t decide…..do I buy a Canyon CF SLX7 with Rival group set for €4,400 and add speed sensor and flare aero bars OR buy Cube C68x Litening with Ultegra Di2 that includes speed sensor and weight saving of 300g for €5,500

hi Smithy! I can't comment on the Cube since I never had one. Seems nice indeed though...

11:03 why don’t you just switch the rotors instead? that’s much easier than adjusting the brake calipers.

Some b-roll of the bike would have been nice. 24 minutes without any pictures of it is a bit long.

Also a Canyon fan and user. Love the bike. Just for you to keep in mind. Have you the concept of using a shorter crank for higher power. The bikes always come at 172.5mm in Medium size. Pogacar was using 165mm, smaller than all other riders of his size

Yo, I don’t think Dare bikes are cheap. They are S-Works territory.

I never bought a new bike in my life so I have to spec them to my body. I still don’t understand why these companies don’t give the option to put the bike together for your needs. They could charge a percentage for that, I understand that putting together 10.000 the same bikes is more cost effective but hey that’s not in the consumer’s interest.
@rchang97604 ай бұрын
Hmm I disagree with what you said re tyres Gp5000s are the most popular tyre, of course you will see more punctures. You wont see anyone puncturing on gp4000s because nobody rides on them... So it doesnt necessarily mean they're more prone to getting damaged

I like my Pirelli tires. They are maybe a little bit slower than GP 5000 but they don’t wear as fast and they’re also cheaper.
