The great guitarist with the solo Barry Rillera and his beautiful shirt almost stole the show for awhile. Barry introduced Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley to each other -- who were each in different groups, then Bobby joined Bill's group The Paramours in 1962, and then they soon became the duo -- the Righteous Brothers. Barry played with them in recordings and touring for over 30 years. He also played with other musicians, including his brothers and also Ray Charles. Bobby and Bill cared about the music and their musicians, both professionally and personally. 🎶✨

What a GREEEEEEAT EPISODE!!! The Staple Singers are pure bliss! I was a little 4th grader in '74 and the teachers dressed cool like those Staple Singers ladies...I feel like a kid again, so innocent and respectful of these elders. The Righteous Brothers reunion before our eyes is a cherishable moment. Oh' Happy Day was stompin!! It's never too late to play an instrument, or too early. The electronic organ is an instrument that can fill your room with these now music standards. The Righteous Brothers Ebb Tide sounds so amazing on an electronic organ 1939-present. Sadly Lowrey was the last of the home organ market to fold just recently, but they finally nailed digital sounding great instead of fake. The great models of the 1960's should be as cherished and preserved just as much as all of the multi-thousand dollar electric guitars. The 60's and early 70's models use basic abundant discrete electronic components ( transistors, resistors, capacitors). SAVE THEM! see- the 1986 Organ Bluebook, and Jan Giradot's Master Organ List. The Organ Forum is a great place for research.

"He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" is a ballad written by Bobby Scott and Bob Russell. Although Russell was dying of lymphoma and the pair met only three times, they managed to collaborate on the song. In his 1884 book The Parables of Jesus, James Wells tells the story of a little girl carrying a big baby boy. Seeing her struggling, someone asked if she wasn't tired. With surprise she replied: "No, he's not heavy; he's my brother." ~wiki

I love that song it always brings me tears, thanks for the backstory, here, The Hollies did it justice. My oldest brother died last year and my dad died from non Hodgkins Lymphoma at 67, many years ago when I was 32. I visited the Hollies song site to memorialize my sweet bro, and grieve, music can be so healing in times of sorrow.

@@rosskstar Ha, about your brother! I’m so sorry your mom died when you were so young, it must have been very hard.🤍🤍🤍 Me too, we’ll see them again; “Someday soon, going with them, someday soon.”❣️🎼❣️ My take on ~ Judy Collins lovely song.

Bobby Hatfield was so cute. Bill Medley wasn’t bad looking either. Loved Mr. Hatfields falsetto.

No falsetto! That was his natural voice, as he was a countertenor, the highest of the male voices.

That pedal steel playing is impressive (on New Riders of the Purple Sage’s first tune). Reminds me of ‘High In the Middle’ from Honk’s ‘5 Summer Stories’ album.

@@spoodlew that was hilarious! But what cracks me up the most is when they are singing the gospel segment and Bobby is hopping up and down on both feet like a little kid! Gets me every time. He had such a sense of fun.

Paul wrote many of the big hits when i was a kid. what a guy
@LaurelT1948Ай бұрын
My favorites of his are the remarkable songs he wrote on Michel Colombier’s album, Wings. Bill sang two of the songs, and got a Grammy nomination for one of them, Freedom and Fear. I asked Bill to autograph my copy of the CD. Paul sang one of the songs, too. Also Lani Hall and Herb Alpert, and Vermettya Royster (beautiful voice).

@@mattskustomkreations ok, I see what you were refering to (his comments before singing the first song). Yes, that is Phantom. I thought you were refering to the 2nd song he sang where he made comments before singing it. The second song was from Cinderella Liberty
