Gotta have respect for him working on his craft and tuning out the noise and just playing better. I'm proud of him. I'm proud of the entire team because they have come out like world beaters when literally no one outside of the building expected this.

Out of all the scoring I look at the smallest of things. My fav play of game, Alvin kamara pickups up MICAH PARSONS on a blitz and Carr completes a 3rd down. That’s what I’m talking about!!! Who dat!!

My man.... Carr absolutely was incredible at the QB position. The only reason he's not putting up monster stats is bc the run game is working. Even w/o 400+ yards and 4 TDS, he's still playing at an elite level, arguably the best QB in the NFL. Pretty sure he's still the #1 graded QB in the NFL.

I got to this game late in the day because I had my daughter's gymnastics comp this morning. HOLY MOLY WHAT A GAME ! I have been following you since 2018 and you were the first reaction I went to after watching this game - whodat to ya, Rev! This is probably the most exciting game I can remember since the mid-form Brees days. I just wanted this team to be competitive after last week's win but man, watching a dominant performance like this just hits special. Glad to share this win with all my fellow fans. Just always felt like we had all the pieces this whole time, but finally found a way to put them together cohesively. I want this momentum to keep going into Feb 2025. Great game Kubiak and give credit to DA, I always thought he was a credit to the defense and was initially excited for him to take the helm. Thank god we got rid of Carmichael!

It's the exact same team as last year, that's what is incredible. I think a LOT of apologies are owed to a lot of players and coach. The problem the whole time last season was the 1980's offensive scheme, NOT Carr and not the O-Line or anything or anyone else.

Don't wanna bash Carmichael - (He played a big part, in helping make the Saints perennial winners during the Brees/Payton era, and the one time when Sean Payton allowed PC to call the plays (after Payton broke his leg, from a sideline collision, cerca ~2011) the Saints scored a record ~62 pts vs the Manningless Colts. The only problem(s) with Carmichael, was that his system/scheme was tailored to Drew Brees (& not, Derik Carr). And probably, the other problem, might have been that Carmichael's system was essentially Sean Payton's system/scheme. Change is inevitable. And team's systems/schemes need to be tailored to the players on the roster. And sure, smart players should be open to the play calling, schemes, and game plans of their coaches. But, a smart coach will be open to player input & tailor the scheme to the talents of their players. ...Hey, Deuce: DIDYA NOTICE THAT (FORMER SAINTS GM) RANDY MUELLER WAS REHIRED, LAST WK, BY THE SAINT'S FRONT OFFICE?? How come nobody's talking about that!??! ⚜️WHO DAT, Baby!!!⚜️
@RagaBopHepCat

...And Kudos to Clynt Kubiak. Breesus was a once in a generation QB & it's foolish to expect Derik Carr to be Drew. This is finally Carr's team, & we're seeing the results on the scoreboard (albeit, 2 games does not make a season).
@DeuceWindhamNFL
@DeuceWindhamNFL 5 күн бұрын
Truly not trying to be a hater, but I can assure you Carmichael's failure had absolutely 0 to do with being "tailored to Drew Brees". Carmichael was rigid and unimaginative. He didn't know what and when to run concepts. He simply threw them out there like darts at a dartboard. The tendencies he did have were extremely predictable. When teams figured them out, he never changed them. I just think he's someone best as an assistant. And yes, did notice that!

If Carr needs a good OC to thrive, please explain why they scored 40+ points in the last game of the regular season last year, were top 10 scoring offense on the year last year, and Carr being in the top half of the league across the board even though he had two major injuries he played through last year. I love kubiak so far, but it’s disingenuous to discredit what Carr is doing.
@DeuceWindhamNFL
@DeuceWindhamNFL 5 күн бұрын
Simple: New Orleans started allowing others to influence the offense. We talked about this throughout the year in my podcast. :) This was Ronald Curry, who is now with the Buffalo Bills. New Orleans did a fresh slate so that Klint could pick his people. But Pete was on the way out before the end of 2023. (did want to edit in that Curry was in the running for the OC job. When NOLA went for Klint instead, Curry decided to move on. Which makes sense. He wants the promotion.) The problem was always Pete Carmichael. He prevented Derek Carr from being the Top 10ish QB that he is. Klint Kubiak is allowing Carr to be that. Carr is a very good QB. Generally, guys that aren't "elite" but are good can have quite the swing with poor coaching but always maintain some level of success. Alvin Kamara is a good example. Look at AK through 2022-2023 vs now.
@ericsipe8619
@ericsipe8619 5 күн бұрын
@@DeuceWindhamNFL I think I can agree with everything that was said here. I do wonder if great QBs are affected more than you think by OC changes, but that would be mostly conjecture.

@@ericsipe8619 So just to continue the conversation and keep it in house, we actually can take a look. Drew Brees in 2012 had to QB under Pete Carmichael due to Sean Payton's suspension. Payton was banned from any contact/interaction with the team so we know Drew was just with PC. Drew is a no-doubt HoFer and elite QB. (several All-Pro nods, dozens of NFL records, etc.) He threw for 40+ TDs, 5K+ yards, etc., but you look at some of the stats he's famous for (low INT %, high completion %, etc.) and you'll notice he wasn't near as efficient as in other years. He still threw for 40+ TDs which in any era is incredibly impressive. He still made the Pro Bowl. in 2011 he was 2nd in MVP voting and was the Offensive Player of the Year. In 2013 he was 4th in OPY voting. However, even a HoF QB noticed a dip in the quality of his play with a less than stellar OC as we say in 2012. I've always believed Derek Carr is a very good QB, but I also don't think he's the level of QB Drew was. That isn't meant as a knock against Carr just that if a bad OC can affect Drew surely it would influence Derek. On the flip side, pair Drew with a HoF level playcaller (Payton) and you get incredible results. Give Carr a good (maybe one day HoF? Let's revisit in 20 years lol) OC/Playcaller and I think he can play extremely well. Just to take it a step further, I'd say Derek Carr could be like a Matt Ryan. A top 10-15 QB who, with amazing coaching and the right circumstances, can win MVP. But I don't think anyone would call Ryan an elite QB of his era. But who wouldn't take Matt Ryan's MVP season? We all would. My hope is that Derek Carr gets to his maximum potential in NOLA and hopefully that's with Klint Kubiak.
@ericsipe8619
@ericsipe8619 5 күн бұрын
@@DeuceWindhamNFL I think these are very valid points and extremely informative, although, it’s hard not to point out that this example is such small sample size with so many other extraneous variables. On the other hand, Rodgers looked better with different play callers in his career. Is he not an elite quarterback? For the record, I don’t put carr in the same category as Brees (or Rodgers) either. Just think he’s better than what some people have given him credit for over the years. I do think Kubiak is helping to bring the best out of him, although I think it also helps to have a veteran qb with Carr’s abilities to bring out the best in the system as well.
