Your joy in sculpting and encouraging others to be artisitic and creative, rather than trying to sell a product or chase advertisers, is an inspiration. I'll probably never go pro, but thanks to you I can save money on minis and sculpt my own. It's also a more satisfying feeling to see something on the table I made myself. Especially if it's someone else using it and having fun.

Thanks Jake! I don't have anything against people advertising and I do enjoy when people buy the things I have to sell, but I feel more fulfilled that the videos aren't about that. It gives me a freedom to share without the weight of other obligations.

Tom you're the only real resource I've seen that's accessible for miniature sculpting, I love you bud. You've gotten me to the point where I can easily sculpt very compelling bases. I've done halfling grass that I'm very proud of. I've even gotten some heads that turned out quite decent! I hope you know that you're appreciated. You are an absolute gem, and you sure do shine! Hermit here!

Sculpting is the handcrafting that you must learn. But sculpting is nothing without the knowing about anatomie and proportions.

First of all I miss it too. 🙂 We could definitely organize one for GenCon? Of course there is adepticon and origins? You pick one or two and I will make it happen! I also just bought a building in Peru if you would want a less busy location.

Our sculpting hangs were some of the first for me. I'll be at Adepticon for sure. I keep thinking of going to GenCon or Origins again. That would be fun. We should definitely talk about putting something together.

I'd love a chance to sculpt in this sort of context. Sadly, I don't know anyone who sculpts in the same scale as me. Plus, the ones who do sculpt are in the special effects industry and simply don't have free time. I did, however, a long time ago at a convention show Gene van Horne some sculpting tools I had made. He was so tickled with them that he had to show them off to Bobby Jackson. I thought it was hilarious. My tools were far, far better than my sculpting skills.

That's so cool! Gene and Bobby are great. Hopefully we'll have a chance to meet at a con some day (if we haven't already). I'll be at Adepticon in 2024 for sure. It's a little soon to tell, but I might go to ReaperCon as well.

@@TomMasonSculptor It'd be great to meet you and more sculptors at some point. I've met a couple of others in passing and everyone, so far, has been very encouraging and gracious. I don't know when I'll make another con, but some day it will happen.

Thank you for all your videos. I have learned a lot from watching you. When sculpting in poly clay, do you do a single bake per figure or multiple bakes in parts and layers?
@TomMasonSculptor
@TomMasonSculptor 7 ай бұрын
I only ever do a single bake with polyclay. You can do multiple bakes, but it's hard to stick more clay to the figure so I don't think it's worth it. I usually have the figure 98-100% complete in clay, then I will bake and add any final details with greenstuff.

Крсивые миниатюрки 👍а какой рост фигурки и из чего лепите если не секрет?

These miniatures are about 32mm tall when they are standing up straight (before posing). These are partly for a secret project. The non-secret part is I plan to release them as dollies that people can practice sculpting on.
