Hi Tash. I just love how enthusiastic and excited you are when you get new yarn or your starting a new project. Love seeing all the wips and fo's. Sorry you have to rip back the shawl but it will look beautiful when it's finished. Look forward to the next episode. 🥰

I can always count on you, Tash, for clueing me in to new to me patterns or designers. Today, it is Leslie Friend. I paused your video to go find her on Ravelry, and now I am planning to make my husband golf club head covers for Christmas. 😂 Thanks!❤

The skimmer socks again colourful. The Audrey in anst pity about the negative ease. The Snowbloom looks stunning in those colours. My favourite is The Clay Sweater it looks cosy. The Baker's hat is a great pattern. Oh dear you have to pull down the shawl it happens. The Andrea Mowry sweater is going to look great. Tash take care ❤😊

All the best for your husbands surgery and recovery! I think I have to put the Clay sweater on my to knit list! I made an Eva cardigan out of the silver Loch Lomond and love the yarn. If I remember correctly it didn't grow much but it wasn't garter. I will definitely use the yarn again in one of their more tweedy colours.
@mostlyknitting2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much Ursula. I am glad you enjoyed using the yarn. Yes, i dont think it would grow much except for the garter. I am glad i used a yarn like this. Superwash and garter would not be a good combination. ;)
@oldwitchknits-Ursula2 ай бұрын
@@mostlyknitting agree! Also I think the pattern wouldn't do well with the drape you get with superwash.

Your friend from the vault is beautiful. Such a stunning color. As a still pretty newish knitter, it always makes me feel better, and helps me be more patient with my own mistakes, when I see even experienced knitters like yourself make mistakes as well. Love the experience you're having with your daughter and making the bags. Definitely taking a look at those!

I bought some Linen Quill to make the Coloring Book Tee by Amy Sher. Have a look at Edible Thoughts' makes of that pattern on Ravelry. She makes some lovely striped versions which your mini's might work well with. I have made the Daily Pullover inspired by Leslie Friend and I wear it a lot. It's a very useful style and weight sweater. Thanks for an interesting and informative podcast.

I enjoy knitting more, but I have made two of Linda skuja's crochet patterns. They are so simple well written and easy to follow and you could totally handle it.
@mostlyknitting2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for that information Sarah. That is really helpful to know that as a designer, she writes clear patterns. That would be so cool for me to crochet a sweater. I am excited about getting skilled up enough to tackle it. Or at least improving my skills along the way. :)

You’re not alone on the not paying attention. I’ve made like 4 pairs of the Skimmer socks and more than once have had to rip back on the heel where you start the S1, K1 heel flap. Didn’t pay attention to the *s
@mostlyknitting2 ай бұрын
It's funny, isnt it. If it is complicated, you dont try to auto-pilot. Its the "easy" ones we muck up because we stop paying attention. ;)

The pink sweater is lovely on you. Glad it will be more comfortable for you! I'm curious about why you have to order yarn from around the world. My impression from reading The Thorn Birds years ago was that Australia had enormous sheep stations. Is it no longer known for raising sheep?
@mostlyknitting2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much Jillian. We do still have a lot of sheep, but a lot of yarn gets shipped overseas to be milled elsewhere...

Hello! I can totally get the cardigan fit dilemmas: I tend to wear mine open and often need to determine how I will like it left open (floppy collar, can't see all that work for the stitch pattern, etc)...It looks good either way though! I think you are encouraging me to get on with fixing some sleeves on a sweater I knit ages ago that I am not happy with...I just need to get on with it! Love the new fit for the sleeves on your sweater. As a note, I have made Pure Joy and didn't need extra yarn...and it will click for you: I think it just wasn't the right time for that pattern and your brain and one day it will be "oh, what was the problem, this is a breeze" (or at least that's what happens to me 😂). Can't wait to see your test knit and what all your new purchases turn out to be (whenever that happens!).

I always think of fixing my knits as a small investment of time to redeem all the original hours put in. That makes it seem less daunting of a task for me! I meant to mention on the last video that the major colour shift in Antler may have occurred between when MadTosh was independent and when they were purchased by the larger company (was it Jimmy Beans Wool?).
@mostlyknitting2 ай бұрын
That is such a good point, Talitha. 4 hours total to fix something that probably took maybe 50 hours to make? Definitely worth it. Thanks for mentioing about the change in ownership of Madelinetosh. You are probably right there. :)

Hope your husband has a speedy recovery from his surgery- best wishes to him. Look forward to seeing your bag making video. Do you know if the prices are USD? AUD? Would love to try one but our Canadian $ is so low it can make a big difference!
@mostlyknitting2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much Beverly. These are USD prices. Hopefully the 30% + 5% discount might put it closer to more affordable territory. They do have some smaller and cheaper kits that might still allow the experience but with a better price point. :)

I know you are busy with work and have enough of your own knits to knit backwards and fix, but would you consider doing a tutorial on grafting 2x2 ribbing in the round? There are lots of 2x2 rib grafting videos, but I seem to always be off a stitch or two somehow, so I'm either purling under the knits or purling one of the knits and knitting one of the purls, no matter how I do it, or move over, shift the top or bottom stitches, etc. I knit my husband a pair of socks, but I must have just done a knit-on cast on rather than long tail because one cast on was too tight, and I didn't notice it until I had finished the sock, and it was knit top down. So I cast on for a new sock and did 2 rows of 2x2 rib, starting with the k2's, and unraveled 3 rows and the cast on from the original sock so I could just graft on a new top to the ribbing. I want to use the yarn that I unraveled to graft with since it is still attached to the sock and is the right colour (it's self striping), so I'm coming off p2 and k2 will be the next stitch. It seems that is where the issue is for some reason, because I have the k2's lined up, one on top of the other, just like the flat examples on KZbin. If you can't do a tutorial, could you maybe just tell me how to start? I seem to get k2p2 with what I'm doing, I just can't get them to line up where they should be.

I really appreciate your confidence in me and my tutorials. I'm sorry you havent found one that has been helpful so far. It isnt something that is easily explained in words. I could do a tutorial on it at some point but I am afraid i could not promise anything soon given i am still teaching and my husband's surgery is this week.
