Lucky me, I picked up a Toshiba Satellite Pro 4320 just the other day for AU$30 + (AU$35 postage). It works great. Only missing the docking port cover. It also came with a PCMCIA Xircom network card, physical manual and a Toshiba bag.

That’s a steal! Congrats! Don’t forget to replace or remove the CMOS battery as soon as you can. They tend to leak and damage the motherboard.

The Tecra 8100 was my fist laptop, bought refurbished in the 2000s when I was in college. It wasn't too bad, but it could get quite warm which over time led to one of the RAM slots failing. Also, I think only the LCD lid was made from magnesium with the rest being plastic.

I have toshiba sat pro 4200, and sat 4600. works fine on dos, w95, w98. sound ok on dos. btw, You can use full screen on doom2 (dos), enable full screen in bios. Toshiba 320, 660 (pentium 1) are so fine to.

Świetny kanał, leci sub :), widzę, że mamy podobne zainteresowania, do gier do koniecznie spraw sobie jeszcze dell XPi CD, XPi, dobry też jest Inspiron 7000, przewaga dell to lepsze matryce, z eleganckim skalowaniem ;)

Haha, faktycznie dell XPi, świetna maszyna do gier retro z czasów DOS, choć większym sentymentem darzę della inspiron 7000, to XPi daje radę i ma bardziej kompatybilny dźwięk.@@retrobecanes

Can you set speed step/ disable cache through hot keys/ command line (through setmul) or only via the bios? As adding to a batch file would make it easier to play cpu sensitive games

Hello, you can set speedstep through hot keys (Fn*F2 on the fly, without the need to reboot, even while within a game) or BIOS setup. Cache can be enabled and disabled through software (setmul). But for write through and write back mode, it has to be done through BIOS.

sick, i have a toshiba satellite 4200 with a 14.1 inch display it is practicaly the same in looks compared to the 4300 the only annoying thing is the hinge, could you make a video on ethernet pcmcia cards on this machine if so that would be great to watch.

@@retrobecanes thanks it would be great because it is something that i have been looking around for i spoke to some people on reddit and they said that 3com ones are good also the drivers for them are quite easy to find if you have a look on the internet archive.

Peux-tu s'il te plaît me dire quels ordinateurs portables (Pentium III) sont les meilleurs pour MS-DOS 6.22 ? Il faudrait que la carte son soit reconnue nativement par MS-DOS. J'aimerais beaucoup pouvoir lancer le magnifique jeu Dune 2 avec sa merveilleuse musique.

Pour le moment, je pense que la Satellite 4300, et la Portégé 7200CTe feront l'affaire. La compatibilité sous dos est excellente. Je n'aime pas trop les sons du synthétiseur de la Portégé, mais jaime la taille fine de cette bécane. Cela dit, j'ai testé que ces trois portables. Je suis sure qu'il y en a d'autres qui sont tout aussi bien, mais j'essai de me concentrer sur des modèles qui sont encore facilement disponibles et peu onéreux.
