Winter Dessert Series (Indian) Schedule: . #1: Gajar Halwa - DONE #2: Chikki - *TODAY* #3: Gajak (Gur) #4: Gajak (Cheeni) - To compare with #3 #5: Moong Dal Halwa #6: Mysore Pak #7: Sugar Free Gajar Halwa - To compare with #1 #8 Meal First, then dessert (Highest Sugar Spike) . Please remember: I am not a diabetic, and results can be different from person to person, especially for diabetics. Ideally, each person should test food items to see how their body reacts. Glucose spikes, calories & quality of ingredients, all of these matter. Finally, I am not a doctor & this is not medical advice. . How to see my results: Best is to see how different food items compare with each other, rather than looking at absolute numbers. . Why am I doing this if I’m not a diabetic? - Prevention is the best medicine. It’s best to know which foods increase blood sugar by how much, so better decisions can be made. . Sensor: Abbott Freestyle Libre . The Sugar Spike Show - Enjoy!

This even better than protein bars. Maybe it’s not fashionable but chikki is actually my “all weather” go to sweet. Thanks for confirming that it’s a healthy option 🫡

Very useful series. We have nutritional information for most of the western food. But Indian eateries only has ingredient level nutrition facts. Hence it becomes difficult to check the sugar spike impact based on just the nutrition label. What you are doing is incredibly useful, I myself wanted to do sometimes. This breaks most of the myth also. While the number varies from person to person, atleast we get an idea what to eat, where to cut down etc. Please keep doing!! ❤

Chikki has gudh and that would make a difference compared to the sugar. Also its important to monitor the BG after a consistent number of hours. For example always measurw after 2 hoir of eating. That will remove bias and this experiment will be more consistent. You could also collect the data and publish it ;)

Hi sir those sugar levels are same for diabetics
@BuddhaLaughs17 сағат бұрын
These videos show the “ spike difference” in various foods. That helps to choose better options. By the way, the amount of spike will vary from person to person. Diabetics will spike more than non diabetics. But the “relative spikability” of foods will remain similar. That’s what we need to know. I hope I am able to explain.

@DM-cy7hy18 сағат бұрын
Mostly it's jaggery can't make it with sugar. However those available in market which are not branded, could be made with Corn syrup etc.

Are you diabetic? Results would be quite different for a diabetic because of low Carb tolerance, not specific to chikki though

In Chikki there will be a jaggery sugar will not increase
@bp701019 сағат бұрын
😂 jaggery is pure sugar as well, it’s sugar with a little more minerals and a little less refined that’s it. A diabetic should not have it ! And healthy people should treat it like sugar and eat in extreme moderation
