A beautifully made alternative there, Algy. A joy to watch. Happy New Year - here's to an end to the storms and to lots of spring flying. 👍

@@clearprop just had another storm come through on New Year's Day, not too much damage thankfully. I think I shall look forward to every chances I have to fly and with a bit of luck get the Fisher in the air. I hope you have a Great New Year and some fun adventures.

Good to have your videos back. That's a nice old bench top scoring tool. It looks like a sturdy connection end. Hope you had a lovely Christmas.

I hope to be able to continue with the aileron system, if the weather allows me to take the aircraft out side, so I can fit the lower wings.

Firstly I hope you enjoyed your Christmas and I wish you a Very Happy New Year, As I watched this video my memory went back to working as an Civil Engineer on rail and road bridge building. It struck me that our idea of being accurate was just a little less refined than yours with an aircraft. It made me smile. Having watched the build from episode 1 I truly hope that I shall be present at the airfield for the maiden flight. Best wishes, Michael

Thank you for your kind wishes and I wish you a Very Happy New Year with some good adventures. It would be great if you could make it for the maiden flight but it will be very hard to predict when that will happen, especially if the weather is as unpredictable as it was this year. I know I do work to fairly tight tolerances and I know that they could be opened up a fair bit, however, for just a few mins more effort why not get it that bit nearer.

Always impressed with your high level of workmanship Algy. Captured well on the video. Well done on both! Happy New Year.

Thank you Tim for you kind review. I wish you well for the New Year and hope to bump into you more often out and about in one of the verious aircraft machines I hope to have access to next year.

A lovely piece of engineering Algy. I hope the winds didn't do too much damage.
@flyingkub15 күн бұрын
Thank you Giles. The wind took a lot of felt off my workshop roof and took a lot of glazing out of the green house, plus a few tiles off the house roof, so not too bad but a pain for me to repair.

@@flyingkub I had to put battens on the shed felt as it kept getting ripped off. We did lose the polytunnel cover.

I was a bit breezy wasn't it. Not had that much damage to our place before,, normally the trees help to slow it down but the last two storms have blown in from the one direction we have little protection from as we lost a large Ash tree from that direction last year :-(

Mm, as a Boeing man, I would used a male-ended spherical bearing screwed into the pushrod and secured with a check nut. Light weight and adjustable, too.
@flyingkub14 күн бұрын
@@lardyifytotally agree and that is exactly what I have for the other end which was made up in EP166 and will be fitted un the next video. The reason for the blade type here is the need for a long reach into a bellcrank. I could have saved a little weight especially if I made it plug into the tube but didn't fancy the large moment arms on the stress riser area of necking down from 20mm to 9.3mm. I could have taken more of these ends as they are but the weight saving I felt was minimal.

@ Ah, I see it all, now! Good luck with your build. I look forward to seeing it in the air. Happy New Year!
@flyingkub13 күн бұрын
Well I hope you see it all together in the next video, as I hope to check out the aileron ROM planning on 18deg down and 25deg up to have the best differencial to reduce adverse yaw and be within the original spec. If I have done my maths correctly it will be very close.
