It really is a mystery puzzle restoring a chateau! Loving all the tile work! The garden looks wonderful lit up in the evening! Those dogs are so lucky to be with you two! We permanently fostered a dog once because of age too ..he was "past" his time in the shelter. We ended up having Willie with us for 7 years! Bless you for taking them in ❤.

Those lights look so nice. The tiles will be beautiful. Just back from hospital yesterday. Turns out I have many nodules in my right lung. I have to get a repeat CT scan in 3 months. I am so happy the association can help with the vet bills. They have a perfect home filled with love. ❤

Could the Georgian stone slabs be end caps for a pillar/column?? Love the lights in the yard!! We had 20 either side of our long driveway, but cows came onto our property & trampled them, not to mention, I ran over a few driving in & out!! Sad!! LoL 🇺🇸

Fun project, Suzie, though I suspect Rols might have a differing opinion!! LoL. Still, when the tiles are in place, it will be a lovely, in keeping transition & the bathroom floor will benefit from the checkered tiles as well! Hi Jane, yes, the bricks do look old now we can see them underneath, we will utilise them somewhere else. The checkered ones are going to go on the wall in the kitchen, as the red will go in there, not sure what we're going to put on the bathroom floor yet, probably something with blue in 🤔 xx

On removal of the Tile if you used an oscillating tool around the grout to remove the grout first. Never let the chisel touch the tile. I have a Fein oscillating tool with many different tips. You can find cheaper oscillating tools. I use mine all the time even for wood crafts using old fencing turning it into Boho / shabby chic. shelving, frames, bird houses, plant stands.

Thank you Tina 😂 yes I did give him a bit of a shower! It's nice to get the cushions out again, tbh, they need an airing, got a bit damp over winter, I should have packed them in a bag. The bathroom tiles are going in the kitchen, as there are quite a few broken ones, see if we can get them up ok. The tiles for the bathroom don't throw out the broken ones. They could be used in tiny wonky places. If you don't have enough you could maybe add a border tile.

Thanks Barb, no unfortunately not, the little window looks out onto the barn and the other one is over the back garden, it's just easier to take it out in buckets ☺

I don’t understand why you would decommission the fireplace!wouldn’t it make more sense to reinstate the chimney and install a wood burner? It seems crazy to me. Leave it in heated unless you’re using it.

The hearth wasn't actually deep enough to incorporate a log burner. There was an old oil burner sat there, which was propped up on bricks at the front, as it couldn't sit in there properly. For us to do that, we would have hire a cherry picker for a week, to repoint and line the chimney, also get a lot burner and we just don't have the funds right now to do that, a major job. So, for now we will tile the hearth and bring it out more, we can then sit a log burner on it later if we want to when all the work has been done. Realistically, would we want to be going up and down stairs to keep it lit and take wood up. Thanks for watching, have a nice day ☀
