Excited to see the wallpaper up. That will be a sweet room. Love the bed. A quick google brought up the Államvédelmi Hatóság, ÁVH which was a Hungarian Secret Police during the war. The Ministry of Internal Affairs III replaced it. Your fireplace seems to have M. A. III AVH. But what would they be doing in France? Or it could just be a child's name.

I think it will be a lot dusty next vlog. If you have a box fan perhaps position it in the window blowing outward. I wonder if the tiles couldn't be lifted and flipped as they are usually not textured on the bottom like modern tile is. Just removing the tired looking wallpaper has made a huge improvement in the feel of the room.

I have seen someone sanding painted tiles. It looked great later. Still a lot of work though.

I ❤️ your fur puppies. I don’t like doubting Debbie’s. Or internet downers. Just a word to the wise. Back in late 1960’s my family had to strip wall paper. They forgot the chemical dangers of strip-eaze. We lost our beloved dog cuz he licked his paws and ingested chemicals. Be very careful and thoughtful with that ok? Cuz it’s clear they love you, and you love them.

I'm surprised there was no happy dance after all that wall paper came off. Don't feel you have to put every idea in the room. Eg wood panelling could be nice but it is a very small room. Might be best to save the idea for another room. The fireplace might not look so plain once you do everything. Love that you are saving the fabric. It is pretty. The floor looked good after the cleaning. What is the door next to the window? A small cupboard?

It's going to look good folks! Lots of work, but those old rooms sure prove to be beauties in the end. Could the name be Mariah or Makiah on the fireplace? Just a wild guess.

I would just get a bucket of warm water and a sponge, wet all the paper, leave it for 10 minutes then it should all peel off. I wouldn’t use a steamer, that may be why the plaster has blown 😕
