I like how simply you are putting in a pump. People should know those well pumps have an average lifespan of 35 years. If your well fails, check the pump before letting a well driller talk you into digging a new deeper well. Both my rural neighbors got stung on this unethical business. My well guy I went to school with, the pump is about $700 .

Purhaps those broken roofing tiles would make lovely mulch for the flowers or rock garden. Alternatively, those broken terracotta tiles crushed a little more could be used to make gravel like ground cover for driveway or walkways... just a thought.

Love the wallpaper. I think Suzie's right that the ceiling will have to come down. It's just as well because adding insulation will keep the room warmer in the winter and prevent the heat from going straight up and out through the attic. Also good job clearing the wood/tile area.

time lapses are good when there is a task at hand and you want to show the begining and the end, painting a room for example. You want to show the start, may be something in the middle, and the end, everything else is time lapse, maybe even with bits left out. Putting up wallpaper would be a good place for some timelapse

It was wonderful hearing that Cuckoo in the background! I've never heard one in France, but did in southern Germany on a visit. I understand about that 3-sided chandelier, for some reason those narrow ones always look crooked!

About the ceiling-it looks a bit too dicey to leave in its current state. There very well could be gorgeous beams behind the layer of plaster/plasterboard. Not the most fun task, but it looks like that ceiling will come down one way or another. Better planned than not.

The wallpaper will look stunning. I hope you don't do a feature wall and are able to use the same wallpaper on all 4 walls. Another way to highlight the wall without doing the "feature wall" is an art work or having fabric swag. These can give a more opulent, timeless, "chateau" look. Lovely bed too. Just curious, did you finish the kitchen ceiling and the fireplace tiling? or are you like the rest of us taking advantage of the warm weather and moveing to outside chores? I can't wait for further updates on the guest room and I agree the chandelier is way to small. Did you start working on this part of your land because the farmer is using it for his cows and because you haven't used it in a while he could have taken it from you by French law or something like that? I seem to remember you talking about that in one video? I was just wondering that's very interesting.
