It often takes guts to be the bad guy. He's a superb actor (Along with most of the cast). It also appears that great actors and performers can tell a production that is of such quality and can serve such a meaningful purpose. These people will provide with very little pay.

When it comes to internalized homophobia you have to understand the inner crisis and yea have seen so many act out with anger and vitriol that they honestly have for themselves. TBH at time I did at a young age either stay silent or go alokg to an extent with the queer hate but I am proud that I would try my best to defend someone else that was facing this type of abuse. Often I would then get slurs thrown on me and would flip the script ‘so what if I was gay how would you feel about that.(would you not be able to get along anyone with me/them)’ Also this works both for hate at me and my friends / fellow colleges/humans etc :) So one could only hope that the ben’s of the world just need more people like Charlie and Nick to lead with a compassionate heart and the will to do better by affirming and acting on feelings when we find or build a safe space :_)

He's not. He's just young and lost and hasn't yet developed the tools to deal with his feelings. Society is not encouraging when judging people's sexual inclinations. I'm convinced that Ben will evolve with time and regret his current behaviour, which is the result of fear.

That doesn't mean we fear them by giving them more power than they have. It does mean that we stand up to them, as Charlie did, so they understand that their behaviour is unacceptable and doesn't frighten us. I would cross the street to avoid such people but would not show fear. Their ignorance belongs to them.

I've never really understood the attraction to "reaction videos," but "Heartstoppers" is such an amazing show, that I stumbled on your video while looking at interviews with the cast and creator. Now I get it! I didn't know anything about the graphic novel, and only knew what the trailer showed. In fact, I didn't know the "I broke up with my boyfriend" line was so early in the show. Anyway, it was great seeing and hearing your reactions - pretty much the same as mine to both the characters and the show as a whole. The constant repetition of Charlie & Nick greeting each other is such a sweet counter to Ben's ignoring him in the hallway.

I am completely in love with the series. There are many things to talk about. The chemistry between Nick and Charlie is amazing. Kit's performance was extraordinary, at every moment he imprinted on his face the shadows of doubts that hovered over Nick's mind with perfect mastery. Their relationship fits in a sweet and very soft, respectful way. The supportive stance that Charlie provides for Nick and the love that Nick provides for Charlie is surprising. Nick has the manhood to take on the relationship. The affection between the two is phenomenal. A totally cute couple. The school context, friendship between colleagues, the setting in which the series was recorded. Everything is perfect.😍😍😍😍😩👏💕💞❤️❤️

I think one thing a lot of people miss unless you're from the UK is Charlie & his friends go to an all-boys school (Truham) and Elle & the girls go to an all-girls school (Higgs) which are probably next to each other as evidenced by all the girls passing by Truham's gate when their school's ended and things like Imogen hanging out with the rugby lads every morning.
