EP3 - 3 ICONIC COTTAGES - BLACK ROCK, LAGANGARBH & ACHNAMBEITHACH COTTAGE - PHOTOGRAPHY IN GLENCOE

In episode 3 I visit the most photographed cottages in Glencoe.
When I first visited Glencoe I spent a couple of days driving around looking for these iconic cottages and finding the best place to set up my shot. Fortunately I had plenty of time, but, if you are thinking of visiting the area for a short break and want to find these spots without the hunt then this video might help.
I'll take you along the beautiful route which, within a few miles, contains three of the most iconic and photographed cottages in Glencoe. They have been shot thousands of times but are still well worth a visit and as you will see, the ever changing weather makes all of the difference to the shot, so you are guaranteed an image unique to you.
I started at Black Rock Cottage, near Glencoe Ski Resort, which is very pretty in it's own right but, when combined with the huge Buachaille Etive Mor in the distance, it becomes something really special.
A little further down the A82 you'll find Lagangarbh, which is also dwarfed by the Buachaille, but looks at the peak from another perspective. It sits in an exposed spot, on the banks of a burn/river and is sheltered from the elements by a small cluster of trees.
Finally, my favourite, Achnambeithach, sitting beneath a majestic peak and accessible by a small bridge over the river. This cottage is what first inspired me to visit Glencoe. It's an amazing place for families, outdoor enthusiasts and it's a photographers dream.

Thanks Izzy. The weather is constantly changing in Glencoe so it was brilliant seeing it in the snow, it wasn’t around long though, it was back to sideways rain the next day 😀
