Ep5:GMC Detail - Super Clean On Tire-Rim-Wheel Well: Im Sold!

Bought a 32 oz bottle of Super Clean based off this video, in hopes it would clean the tires and wheels on my F-150 that i have used for work. This is a truck that hasn't been washed in at least 3 years and has been driven through countless construction sites.... muddy, stone and grass construction parking lots. My 2 front wheels were drenched with brake dust and dirt, basically completely brown. I worked each tire/wheel separately, spraying it down first then used 2:1 with the Super Clean around the tire twice. Let it soak in for around 25-30 seconds then scrubbed with a nice tire brush, hosed off and did the same for the wheel. That's all it took to make my dirty disgusting wheels look brand new, it's insane how great this stuff works for the price. I ended up using it on the truck in the door jambs and other tough to reach places that were coated with gunk and dirt and used this wine-glass brush to agitate and wiped off with a micro-fibre. Once again, this product proved it's worth. I ran out of time, but am thinking of using it on the carpet floors when i get a chance

Man, you just saved me money. I just ran out of dedicated wheel cleaner spray and was about to buy more. I didn't even think that Super Clean cleans wheels and tyres! Awesome

I believe the browning on tire sidewalls is an element of the tire compound. It's called antiozonant. It protects from UV damage and premature cracking. Cleaning dust and dirt is one thing but I would be careful with an all out assault on brown staining, especially on new tires

I watch a lot of DPC videos, first time I've seen the Super Clean! I love Super Clean for tires and wheel wells.. It dries so nice and clean, lots of power, minimal residue, easy removal. I do a lot of big 40"+ rock crawling and off road tires with insanely aggressively tread even on the sidewalls, and foam Super Clean is awesome at cleaning out the hard spots, and I don't always have access to a hose. Really awesome to see a veteran professional I admire validate it. 😊👌👍✌

Scott. Here is my story. I bought super degreaser and diluted 4:1 for heavy duty applications. Honestly, my tires continued to have build up after 3 or 4 scrubs at a time. Your video on super clean took me to research a general degreaser and why it works better for you vs super degreaser at 4:1. Found out thru review of sds sheets for sodium hydroxide levels super cleans declares not more than 5% and the same for Meguiars. That to me questions the purpose of diluting super degreaser in the first place. Diluting it 4:1 will reduce the hydroxide conc by 4 times vs no dilution for super clean. So I took a degreaser I had in my garage (concrete cleaner and sodium hydroxide being the active ingredient) and dabbed a few drops on a brush and started scrubbing my tires. Coffee looking gunk started coming out as I was scrubbing, rinsed off and the tire looked clean for the first time since I bought my vehicle. I was blown away obviously. The potency of the hydroxide is directly correlated to its concentration. Diluting super degreaser 4:1 for tires may not be the solution for results compared to ready to use super clean or other off the shelf degreasers in my opinion based on your video and my experience. Diluting super degreaser 4:1 could give you a sodium hydroxide concentration of about 1% vs the 4-5% of ready to use super clean. I have dressed my tires already and will try super degreaser at full concentration to clean and compare performance. Thoughts on this one?

If you are working on factory rims, say for the 98 lesabre (i own one) the factory rims are coated. You can use either purple power or super clean, but you must work fast and keep the hose on standby. Especially if you are working in a fair to steady breeze, it will dry on you. To minimize the drying, work on a cool tire not after just driving it. Tip- keep a clean rag handy get it wet and wipe down the rim after, it'll prevent the etching illusion caused by drying & a warm to hot tire.

Scott I just want to say thanks a lot my friend for this review I did my wheels today on my truck that were 7 months in havoc it took three times a wheel but holly shit it eats brake dust for breakfast lunch and dinner I did dilute it 2 to 1 next will be the truck its3lf with purple power foam then some meguiers wash and wax foam

Yeah do NOT let it dry on aluminum. It etched the clear coat on the siding of my RV. Only thing that cut through the damage was Flitz polish and a orange pad, it brought the shine back.

Can you elaborate a bit? How long a the Superclean on the clear? I wanted to use this on my wheels inside of the car but after reading a bit about it I'm scared to do it: and I'm usually "fearless" when it comes to using dangerous stuff. TDS and reddit makes it sounds like it will melt my car.

Lets see what tire looks like when it drys. Any tire looks good when wet. Not hating, but just saying. Been detailing for 4 years now and sometimes i can scrub tires 3 or 4 times and they still look brown, untill i spray them down with tire shine

I used super clean on my dads 2002 f 250 diesel that has probably never been washed in a decade and all I did was spray super clean full strength on the tires and spray it off and they were perfectly clean. Cleaned so easy, I’m scared to use it again.

Im sry. but im confused u mention Super Clean being alkaline based, the opposite of acid based. You also mention its not good for the aluminum rims. You also mentioned in the past that the acid based Meguiars Wheel Brightener is also bad for aluminum rims! So my question is are both these products bad for aluminum rims?

corey elks I have used Super Clean Spray Foam Cans. The label says to avoid prolonged use on aluminum. I have always used it but rinsing it off soon after

@@cubul32 Typically, i would take it off within a few minutes, even less when in sunlight. The max limit is before it drys. Also keep in mind the brake components in behind. As this is a degreaser, prolonged use and/or exposure can potentially accelerate the need for a brake service.

Scott, I have random questions. Any opinions on C.G. Grime Reaper? It has a ridiculous claim that it's stronger than acid on the bottle. Says should be diluted 20:1. And have you tried their Diablo Wheel Gel?

boy chemical guys stuff just falls so short for me:(...but i understand a lot like them but on a professional level I'm just not a fan of chemical guys...yes i have tried grime reaper and my experience was two thumbs down..im a huge fan of meguiars wheel brightener and just haven't found anything that could compare but it is acid based and you need to use it properly...hope that helps and I'm grateful for your comment

Try Spray nine. It doesn't advertise dilution ratios but in testing shows grease break down faster than super clean at full strength. Price is about the same. I'd assume than at 4:1 it'd perform possibly better
