Sailing through US Virgin Islands. Enjoying the delights of St. John beaches, the charm of Charlotte Amalie and an interesting road tour of St. Thomas.
From Soper’s Hole, Tortola, British Virgin Islands, we motor the short distance across to the island of St. John, US Virgin Islands, where we check-in at Cruz. The beaches of north-west St. John are extremely beautiful and we relax for full 5 days, exploring by dinghy and trekking. Visiting resorts still devastated by hurricane Irma and the ruins of Annaberg sugar plantation.
We then gently sail over to the busier and more developed main island of St. Thomas, and on the way, we pass our friends on s/v Gale, a Swan 66. On St. Thomas we have an interesting road trip around the whole island in a dashing red Jeep and spend some time to capture the Danish architecture of Charlotte Amalie, the main town in the USVIs. 17-26 March 2019
