We are thrilled to see the shoutout! And we thought To help everyone out watching this video we might jump in to mention that unfortunately, since this video was released 2 years ago we no longer currently stock axles of that specified diameter. However, to help anyone out who is looking for something to fit, by our estimate the axle required for this to work would be a Male-Female style axle 8mm in diameter, 60-70mm long with an m6 thread and a 5mm allen key head. We hope this helps! -Tom, Scooter Hut Customer Care Team.

Appreciate your documenting your build. I'm finished a 10 year long frame off, and was thrilled to find that you used cyanoacrylate instead of the (awful) 3M Black Weatherstrip Adhesive. I was about 80% done with rear door strips when I saw one of your vids using the glue you are using. I'm using Bob Smith Maxi-cure Extra-thick 10-15 second glue, and it's working great. So much better than the 3M stuff. And the door lock fingernail paint tip!

Thank you mate, yes I have found this glue to work perfectly and is still going strong on the original door I did. I have used on all my door rubbers.

Awesome channel. I just found you on a FJ40 FB page and zipped on in. I'm impressed already and I haven't even completed the video. Looking forward to more 40 education. I have a '72 softtop that's complete but in fair shape. I've accumulated all the parts & panels to make it a hardtop, just need to do the work. Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge, you're an ACE.

Good job. I have found LH drill bit set invaluable when drilling out broken studs. Often don't even need the ezi-out. Cheers, Andy.

Hey mate. I’ve had a hard time finding scooter axle bolts that are 8mm in diameter to suit factory bushes which are just over. All the scooter bolts have been undersized (7.75mm) to fit the universal bearing size of 8mm hole, which means the bush is sloppy. Did you find pins that were 8mm or very close to? Any further details on your pins? Cheers legend!

Hey, coming along great. If that weld cracks, you might try pre-heating both pieced before welding. That looked like a grade 8 bolt and I believe they require pre-heating prior to welding, but not sure. Also, allow it to cool slowly.

Thanks for the tips! There is very little load on the shaft so shouldn't be an issue.

They’re usually degraded and the whole lock assembly is expensive. If I were you I would 3D print a replacement (just don’t use PLA as it won’t hold up in a hot car)
