On this episode of Mormonish Podcast, Rebecca and Landon continue to dissect the events of the past week involving Tim Ballard and the LDS Church. In the most recent VICE article, we delve into the use of psychic, Janet Russon, who is channeling information from dead Book of Mormon prophet Nephi, to guide the rescue missions of OUR.
Did donors know that the operations were guided by Nephi through a psychic? Did M. Russell Ballard, apostle of the LDS church, know about the use of the psychic? The twists and turns just keep coming and Mormonish is here to bring you all the updates. Including Tim Ballard‘s most recent video where he again claims that there has been no official statement from the church denouncing him and he will continue with his new organization and his run for the Senate.
Check out our previous episode on the topic of Tim Ballard.

If someone can base a multi million dollar "religion" on a background of folk magic, seer stones and self aggrandising exaggeration, why is it surprising that someone can build a multi million dollar business on the back of psychic insight and self aggrandising exaggeration? Anymore than someone would get involved in abuse or murder because they they think people are "dark", "addicted" or "zombies".

Problem ......seer stones were only used by prophets and righteous men in the Bible. When Saul became wicked and turned to the occult his seer stone quit working. Occult doesn't work with seer stones and never did. Josephs seer stones worked and never failed. This was recently discovered that the book of Abraham was translated 100 percent correctly. This is good as my neighbors go to do their genealogy and tell me they prayed for me there as they met with their dead relatives and saw spirits dancing. For every little thing, the women run to their religious leader for advice, and they tell me how grateful they are for the men in their homes having the priesthood - even their drunk, brain damaged grandpa is endowed with this special gift. Even the male child has the special gift. To you he is a little snot, but no, he has the ability to meet up with Nephi, unlike you, woman. I like to invite them into my home where they freeze with horror when they see the Catholic cross hanging on the wall. I try to invite them when I am well and truly tanned brown from visiting Malibu for my vacation too. It emphasizes my Frenchness and fills them with more horror and disdain.😊 "Brothers and sisters, know ye that there wilt be no crosses in the deep pits of hell. Ye shalt be comfortable there with the absence of such Catholic idolatry. Thus hell wilt become Mormon heaven wherever ye shalt be." Your Joseph Smith who awaits for you - along with Nephi and your big brother, Lucifer. PS Big mouthed French women wilt not be allowed in Mormon heaven. They wilt go to the Christian heaven and do nothing but sit on a cloud and play the harp. No polygamy and continuous childbearing for her.

Clarification to Non-Mormons: With regards to the reference concerning a medium contacting an ancient prophet named Nephi, it is important to clarify Nephi is understood by a scholar majority consensus to be a FICTITIOUS character. Nephi is part of the religious mythos of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through their book of scripture "The Book of Mormon." The Book of Mormon is believed through faith, by members of religious organizations linked to the Mormon religious movement, to be an ancient historical record. However, scientific evidence and scholar studies show the book is fictional, containing autobiographical elements as well as religious beliefs from the time and region of its author Joseph Smith Jr.

Could it be that elder Ballard was fine with Tim using his name to endorse the overall project, but didn't actually know about the psychic's involvement and later found out about it and that Tim was telling people he knew and endorsed and blessed that aspect when he didn't? Maybe that's what Russell is so upset about and finds unforgivable? That he's mired up with the psychic nonsense now, which can hurt the church?
@mormonishpodcast1036

49:34 100% It’s about power and control. As long as it is “the priesthood” AKA “virtuous Mormon men” it’s fine. But women? The average Joe down the street who might have a different idea of deity? Nope. That’s terrible and evil. Honestly I’ve gotten more into alternative medicine, intuition, and the general woo woo since I left Mormonism almost 20 years ago than I ever was in, and have found a great deal of healing, empowerment, and peace there. However, no reasonable person goes and bases their life ONLY on that. Sure I like my essential oils, but I’m also going to take my prescription medications and see a doctor when I’m sick or injured. Plenty of law enforcement agencies have used psychics and mediums to help break cases, but that isn’t the only intelligence they use and they certainly can’t prosecute anyone with that information.

The word Coven is a from Coven-ant. Making covenants is part of the occult. They are oaths, like blood oaths. The sacrament is a ritual from the occult where a person was sacrificed to the occult God, then the body was consumed, canabalism, and the blood drank. This gave you the spirit, of the deceased while offering a sacrifice to the Gods. Druidry and paganism are similar to Mormonism. Look up the ritual clothing in druids rituals and compare to the Mormon temple ceremonies. Holy of hollies is Druid. Ark of the covenant had magical powers and was druid.
