Ep8: The Best Adventure So Far! Drive Through Cave - Ultimate North VIETNAM MOTORCYCLE ADVENTURE

In this series I travel Northern Vietnam by motorbike on a Honda XR150 over 14 days from Hanoi to the far East in Ban Gioc , via the Ha Giang Loop and to the Far West in Son La Vietnam. This is the ultimate motorcycle trip in North Vietnam and for the true motorcycle adventurer. In this episode we make our way towards a secret cave in the mountain of Son La. This is all about. exploring the most epic places in North Vietnam by motorcycle.
I ride my motorcycle from Hanoi up to Ba Be Lake and explore the far East at Ban Gioc Waterfall, to west of Son La (just before Sapa) passing through the busy Ha Giang Loop.
From the Ha Giang Loop I hop over to Son La to explore a crazy drive through cave, before continuing down to Ta Xau and the epic Dinosaur backbone ridge with some crazy and amazing adventures on the way.
This series is for the true motorcycle adventurer, those that want to pack a bag, jump on a motorbike and hit the open road and escape the western tourist trap. Here's all the places I visited on my 14 Days exploring the extreme north of Vietnam and why I quickly learnt to avoid the Ha Giang Loop!

I know. Some of the mountain ranges were so high it looked impossible. You would be riding and see something in a cloud and then realise it’s a mountain poking through a cloud. Some of them seemed unreal!

Ahhh such good memories. I did exactly the same road back in Sept, to the point where I ALSO stalled at the exact same spot as you and slid down to the black rock we see at 18:47. The other side of the cave , all through the red roads etc took me around 45mins to an hour I think. But not knowing how long it would take me to find the main road was quite nerve wracking as I was solo and with 10% battery left on the phone xD. Still, by far the highlight of my trip!!

🤣🤣🤣 how amazing. Yes that cave road I got into 2bd gear, realised I needed more oomph, tried to get into 1st but the bike had a dodgy clutch and it wouldn’t go into 1st. You know how steep and sandy that path is! Well it just slid I had no control. So glad I made it to the cave and the other side. What an amazing ride that was. I can imagine with 10% battery and being in your own it felt pretty sketchy. So glad we could connect our experiences and bring back great memories! Thanks for sharing. It made me smile 😊 👍
