Nice video, but the "budget" version, would grind down the hexagon shaped part on the e46 arm to a round part so it would fit the e36 bushing.

I had rubbing issue's with this same setup, I bought 50mm front wheel spacers to fix that

Hey Jon how's it going man, so I thought id hit you up, I had a similar set up to the one you had with the e36 bmw. What I did is I used e46 arms like you had, and e90 outer tie rods which I cut so that they were about a centimeter longer than the original ones. I didn't use the ebay spacers for the tie rods, and I had set my toe out so that it was 1/8 of an inch in total using toe plates. I am having some understeer issues when I go fast into a turn, even when I try to flick it in. My friend who has an e36 did the e46 arms, left the tie rods stock and used the ebay spacers and is having similar problems. Not sure if you were having similar issues and had to adjust certain things, I'm not too sure what it could be. I have pretty grippy tires in the front, and my car is not grinding or hitting anything inside the wheel well when turning. Need some help!

What if you use the stock e36 outer tie rods?is that going to affect the steering for daily driving cause I don't need too much angle on my e36.thank you
@jensabrahamsson98394 жыл бұрын
Isn't the lollipops bushing mounted wrong? Shouldnt it widen the trackwidht and increase camber? It could decrease your rubbing issue or am I thinking wrong? 🙂
@micksmith3021 Жыл бұрын
Yes they are wrong.. it will reduce CASTER like that..
@DJ.10013 жыл бұрын
For the price of all the parts and the hassle of sourcing everything you can just buy an E-Factory full angle kit. More angle, better geometry and the price difference is not all that much.

Hey there. I did the same thing you did but also got e90 inner tie rods. I was wondering want alignment spec you did for your set up or where I can find a alignment spec for stock e36 with bullstien shocks
@Minkflo175 жыл бұрын
Dont use the angle block adapters, there soft aluminum, not tapered, your tie rods will wallow out and be loose until it falls out probably on a bump when ur doing over 60 u loose control, i tried these on my e36 to e46 control arm swap, guys at the shop couldnt get it aligned because of the taper just shifting
@jspeedracing5 жыл бұрын
Really? Ill look into that. I have had really good luck with them so far. So has a buddy of mine. Thank you for the input.
@Minkflo175 жыл бұрын
Jon Drives id check it if i were you, for me it wasnt safe to drive, if they are working for you thats great, i had no luck with them had to take it off which sucks cause i really wanted more angle, still got the e46 arms though so not all bad

So i can use my original e36 tie rod set up for this ebay lock and e46 arms set up? Right ? Im just trying to clear up some doubts
@jspeedracing6 жыл бұрын
Josue MI Nieves Yes I believe so. I just noticed I’m rubbing a little on my lower control arms after a bunch of drifting and driving. So I might need to adjust some things or spacers or something.

Jon Drives thank you for the fast reply!!! I read anything over 30mm spacer would help. Please keep making more videos !!👍

Hey, just wanted to know if it's also worth installing 4mm rack spacers with this set up, I got the knuckle adapters as a Christmas gift and I'll be getting e46 arms as well
@jspeedracing5 жыл бұрын
Walter S I’m not super familiar with the rack spacer. It’s a good budget setup though. Merry Christmas

Sooo....what happened with the sway bar linkage?
@jspeedracing4 жыл бұрын
Hasan Abdulhamid haven’t been running one. You don’t technically need one unless you’re trying to get max grip in drift. I’m going to figure out a setup for one soon. Good question
@zachkarr66864 жыл бұрын
Jon Drives you’ll need m3 from coil overs. I’m running BC extreme lows they have a mounting tab on the coil over sleeve to attach sway bar to strut. M3 had different front lower control arms and struts to add quality to the M brand via handling

Hey man those lock adapters, how are they holding up? I had a set but they felt super cheap and sketchy haha. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
@Minkflo175 жыл бұрын
Colton Miller i did this exqct swap on my e36 last week, tried to get a alignment yesterday at a shop, the guys told me that the tie rods just keep moving around because of the lock adapter, so idk what to do but takem off, maybe theres a specific tie rod that goes with them but these guys see to have it working
