How to Install & Download/Setup Software for Epever Ebox Wifi

I am thinking about buying a few Epever charge controllers. My question is does the charge controller itself store the charge/discharge statistics or does the wifi or bluetooth controller? If the statistics are stored in the charge controller, I'll just buy 1 wifi or bluetooth adapter and use it to program the 3 charge controllers. Then when I want to read out the statistics, I'll plug the adapter back into each of the charge controllers as necessary. Thoughts?

Can you change battery type and voltages from the app? I saw there is a send button but the values seem read only

Yes, you should be able to change some parameters on the Epever solar charge controller.

Many thanks for the demo, very useful to know, it would interesting to see what setting on the controller can be changed through the app. I’m assuming you using the WiFi box and the MT50 at he same time, however, I believe there is a new box that will allow both. One question however, how long is the cable for the WiFi box? Have you tried running a longer cable than the one provided.? Many thanks once again

I believe the battery settings and the load settings are the only values you can change by tapping on the value, inputting new value, and hitting send, as for the cable, that comes with the WiFi box is short, less that 30 cm. I believe the max is 30 meters when it comes to that type of cable, I used a 30 meter cable from the Controller to the MT50 before, but never tried a different length cable with the WiFi Box, didn't see the need since the Blue tooth range is 30 meters and it works through concrete walls, which I found impressive. Is your ep ever controller with positive ground ? Mine is , they do one that is negative ground now ,as long as your load item doesn't touch the case its ok .

The version I have straight from the Chinese manufacturer only came with the positive and negative, no ground connection.

Is the BlueTooth easier to connect to a PC then the WiFi ? Don't have to disconnect from WiFi all the time.

The software for the PC can be downloaded for the WiFi controller and MT50 from the manufacturer support website. I was never able to connect neither because the instructions unfortunately were not clear.

No, I'm able to use only one at the time. They sell splitter connectors, where you can plug both the MT50 and Wifi transmitter at the same time, but I haven't tried it.

Hi. Thanks for the video. How are you connecting cables from epever controller so that the wifi shows daily, monthly and annual energy consumed? Mine is showing 0 all the time.

It uses only once cable to connect, it's a regular phone cable. It goes from the communication port at the bottom of the Epever Charge Controller (bottom right) to the Epever Wifi Controller. I'm connecting my Android phone using Bluetooth. Hope this helps.

Yes, as long as you have Bluetooth in it.

I think the Bluetooth transmitter and the MT-50 Meter are choices the manufacturer provides to accommodate our needs. I prefer the Bluetooth transmitter because, I'm able to move around the house and I'm able to check the readings regardless of where I am. I live in a two story house, and work from a room in the second floor, I also have a detached rancher where I have my solar panels and battery box outside. Everything there is pretty much on solar (fridge, fans, tv's, wife's kitchen, etc.) The MT-50 is set in the rancher, so during the day, I connect the Bluetooth transmitter and don't have to come downstairs to check how things are working. Disadvantages of the Bluetooth Transmitter: 50 meter range and concrete walls maybe in the way for the signal (just like wifi), but the strength it is fairly decent. Also, less detail in the menus. Disadvantage of the MT-50: it is connected to a cable and specs indicate you can only have a extension cord of up to 30 meters between the Charge controller and the MT-50 . Disadvantages for both (you can only connect one or the other (I haven't tried a splitter adapter yet, but it has crossed my mind). I wish the manufacturer will make the MT-50 wireless, that will make it the perfect meter. Bottom line, the both provide me the basic information I need to make sure I don't drain the batteries and have enough power if I need to draw from the system.

@@electronicproductreviewcha7063 you say you prefer the bluetooth version, but youre shwoing the wifi version here?i could really use your help man, i cannot for the life of me get my bte ebox to connect to my phone. when i try via the phne sbluetooth, it will ask me for a code to connect. there is no code. when i try to connect via the app, the ebox will not show up. here is a link to a video i took of me trying. what am i doing wrong? kzbin.info/www/bejne/h4uzmICArtBob9U

I prefer Bluetooth because; Bluetooth uses *much* less power from your solar battery. Also, when connected to bluetooth with your phone, you still have internet connection via wifi if you're at home..

Hello l Have the Eperver wifi Bluebox and Got Nothing But Drama l Have the app and It Doesn't Connect !! The Bluebox shows The Power Light and Wifi light Kit up But No Connection ?? Just Nearing Ruining out of ideas !! Might be a Defective Wifi Bluebox Don't No ?? And Hints !!

Should not be too hard to connect using Bluetooth. If I remember well, wifi on your phone has to be off.
