I love how rift has slowly become more and more confident through this series, in the first two or three episodes he seemed sort of uncomfortable with the new format, but as time has gone on with it he's been more confident and started speaking up more and I absolutely love that so much

My father had a very similar experience during his early teen years. He was obsessed with burning small things and one time burnt a hole in his parent's carpet and got a stern lecture and his ass whooped. Luckily I didn't have his pyromanic tendencies during my teen years. Nice to hear your story, Uncle E!

I was fire OBSESSED as a kid but it totally went away as an adult, same as my depression. I guess I burned the depression and the roaring depression even smoldered out. If you're like I was, hang in there. It gets better. And ironically I had the police called to my house for a welfare check after 10 years sober today. Lmao.

I also had a phase of pseudo-pyromania when I was younger. Honestly I'm still a little too interested in fire to this day lol, I'm just glad that I was never able to successfully create any explosives because I definitely would have lost some fingers

Paul, through multiple years I have followed your channel and I look forward to you dressed as an alien, making a pb&j, sitting by a fire, talking about your life or whatever the hell you’re doing. You have helped me through working in a factory (when you did the podcast) working in a dish pit and now working as a restaurant manager. I will never get sick of your voice, your videos or your presence. You will always be recommended, watched and enjoyed splentasticly through my eyes and ears. (And yes, when people ask me how I’m doing, I legit tell them Splentastic now).

bro, it's one thing to light a fire, it's another to just run off and let it get out of hand potentially. that's when it turns from pyromania to some sort of unintentional arson i feel like. having said that, i was also constantly looking for ways of disrupting the order within my environment, and also lit quite a few fires. i never remember just letting it burn though. one time i didn't anticipate it well enough, and set fire to some plastic tarp draped over someone's fence, thinking only the bottom would burn. it started climbing pretty quickly, and dripping burning droplets of plastic. pulled the tarp down, stomped on it until it went out. that's the only close call i can remember. i've done probably hundreds of those little experiments, just seeing what happens. always made sure to do it in a non flammable environment, so never got in any serious trouble. related to that i was also pretty much addicted to explosions, fireworks etc. for quite a while. made lots of little bombs and stuff, shooting arrows through cans of deodorant next to an open flame, potato cannons and whatnot. once had a thing blow up in my hand, only had a few first degree burns and ringing in my ears, so nothing serious again. i think i've just been careful and also kinda lucky to have never had anything go seriously wrong

I once shoplifted a lighter bc I really enjoyed setting things on fire, the feeling was unique, the joy, the sounds of it, how diffrent objects reacted to fire, and I kinda miss it sometimes, not something you really stop to think but, some of that urge to just burn things remains inside

One time in middle school I wanted to set off the fire alarm, but instead of doing the easier thing and just simply pull the alarm itself, I had the bright idea to light some toilet paper on fire. I got caught, got accused of doing drugs (I literally just balled up the toilet paper and lit it [unsuccessfully]), and got yelled at back home.

There was times when I was younger that I would destroy things. Like cutting curtains, setting stuff on fire, breaking windows (got hell for that one) dissembling things like toys, either mine or my siblings. I don’t know why I did it. I didn’t want to see other people without those things, I just want to see what was inside of these things or see them in different form from what i found them in. Things like silly putty and kinetic sand definitely helped sate these desires but I don’t know if they disappeared as an adult.

i had some some minor experiences like those you told, in my case i never had an accident fortunately, but yeah, i would take paper and burnt it, light alcohol on the floor to see how it would react, or try to make experiment and see if i could make fire of different colors, once i almost set the house on fire when i light a container with alcohol, and a giant jet of flame came out of it with a huge bang, lol. That was more than a decade ago so, i don´t feel that urge anymore.

Me and my best friend started a fire in the woods in Euclid Ohio and we got spooked and stomped it out. We ran home and had planned a sleepover. While we were eating dinner an hour later we heard the fire department going by and looked at each other and spoke with our minds, omg bro what if it didn't go out.. yep it didn't and the woods were blazing thank God they put it out quick and not much damage but I've never done that again since.

tbh all you'd have to do is transcribe your videos, cut out some of the fluff from you rambling, and then make your book a collection of short stories. I don't read much anymore, but I do listen to audiobooks. I'd just listen to all of your videos (I already do that anyways) and buy the book to support the channel and also because I live in constant fear that one day youtube might shut down and I'll lose some of my favorite things forever

Sir Rift, as a guy approximately your age, I can tell you with metaphysical certitude that many of us- back in the day- 'experimented' with fire. In fact, we 'experimented' with pipe bombs set off deep in the woods (no one was harmed - we were the only possible victims). So, by my calculations, I'd say your experiences were rather average.

You could write a book of ASMR's for parents or couples, don't discount people's appreciation of your work. Find someone on Fivver or in your community to work on an ASMR storybook with you, then work on a memoir. Most kids books or books for Adult children who also like looking at the pictures only take about a page of writing.
