I particularly like the fact you both fish a little differently, gear, line, rig etc for comparison. Personally I’m favouring mono these days as long as it can hold bottom, but I continue to fish with both braid and mono regardless to mix it up and see what works best. With the beach worming, I noticed Roger digs a bit deeper than Starlo 👌 Great vids gents. 🍻

i like the way that ron callcutt described beach worming. " its easy enough once you get the knack of it. trouble is it takes 50 years of solid practise to get the knack of it." i have never got a beachie myself. that mullet would of gone straight on the heavier rod live and sent out. not a second of hesitation. funny thing i have noticed about things like rays,shovell noses etc. 50% of the time when they move in they do in numbers....hard pressed getting anything else. what line class where you running on your jew/shark rod? me i only use 30lb line. but im also a mono and alvey man to.
@StarloGetsReel7 ай бұрын
Yep, Ron was always on the money. Nailed it! I was running 20 pound braid and a 25 pound mono leader on that heavier rod. That’s why I’m pretty sure it was a shark as it’s rare for even a big jewie to chew through 25 pound mono. And the cut was very clean. But jeez it felt like a jewie to start with!
@mattelvins21027 ай бұрын
@@StarloGetsReel the speed of the run had me thinking jew, same with the head shakes being transmitted on the rod.....maybe there was a fault on the leader. for depending on the size of the shark you might find damage from the shark skin and tail......its one of those things that one could argue about forever LOL the unkowable.

Your call. We choose to fish sustainably and take only what we can immediately use ourselves. In my experience, too many people use "catching fish for others" as an excuse to keep on catching and killing. But I can certainly accept that it is very different in different cultures, and I completely respect your choices. Tight Lines.
