Why wouldn’t someone keep birthdays separate? Unless they are twins or more then it’s just common sense to celebrate each child on their actual birthday isn’t it?

My parents were raised during the Great Depression and didn’t have birthday parties. So when my brother and I came along in 1955 and 1956, (Irish twins-we share the same birthday one year apart) we were fortunate to each get a small cake and one or two gifts. My mother would buy one cake mix and divide it in two, making two small cakes. Mine would have pink frosting and his would have blue. We never minded sharing a birthday since that’s the way it was. It was special because didn’t have much, but got to share our special day together. If we had been born a day apart I’m sure we would have had two separate “celebrations”.

Oh that would be so stressful! My son’s is the day after Halloween and he hates Halloween so spends all of it waiting for his birthday! I’ve never been able to enjoy Halloween since he was born. 😂

In my family we call it Birthday season. lol I start it off at the end of January and my Mother in Law ends it February 17. My three girls are February 1,4 and 11th and they have never celebrated together. I did cheat one year and decorated the house for the birthdays for half of the month with no complaints! My daughter was almost born on my birthday, and I was so relieved when at the end of my birthday that year I was still expecting - for HER sake. I wanted my unborn child to completely have own date, and in the end she turned out to be born five days later! You are SO right Peter to not combine birthdays out of convenience. Your children are individuals that NEED their very own special day. Even children without a loss-of-birth-parents trauma needs that! So THANK YOU for seeing your children as INDIVIDUALS. And you DO succeed! Lovely birthday parties - and I adore the idea of you picking up the birthday child for a one-on-one birthday ice cream earlier in the day. A very nice tradition which really ensures that your vulnerable children completely get it that they are seen as ibring unique and very special and that you value time alone with just them! ❤️ Bless you Peter for being a Dad with the right focus!! 😎🎉🎂☀️

As inconvenient as it is, and extra work, keep their birthday's separate....acknowledge their own special day....given their background they need that...they need to know they're special and that they are never going anywhere else....that is until they're 18 and you kick them out HAHA!! JK....I'm sure once they are grown and move out, that Peter would open the door for them to come home if/when needed...or has friends or family they could go to....gotta love 'em while they're that age, before you know it you blink and they're teenagers and know everything, and don't want hugs, kisses, etc. Dang, Luke's my kind of kid....Hot Wheels....well for me its both Hot Wheels and Matchbox. I have a couple hundred of each and still collect them occasionally, but mostly older classics and muscle cars. Enjoy your special days kids.

It's kind of an advantage to have Isabella and Luke's birthdays close together. He might have been jealous thet she got to go out for lunch, but his turn is coming up very soon. 2 of my 4 brothers, and I have April b' days, a week apart. Eldest brother, the 5 th, me the 12th, youngest brother the 19th!, Plus, most years Easter fell close to, and sometimes on the day of, someone's birthday. 3 birthdays, and Easter for 5 kids isn't cheap!

I sure would have all 3 birthday celebrations in one day! You could just decorate with 3 different themes in different rooms like say one in the kitchen, another in the dinner area and another in the family room .

Yes, I think as a parent this would be a dream. My sister and I are about 40 days apart, we always had joint parties growing up, somewhere in the middle. And since hers is in June, that's just hard because kids are all out doing their own thing. So it would be a near the end of the school year joint party. I was never recentful of having to share it with her.... I mean, I'm resentful she's mean and still is at 50... but that's another story! The joint parties are easier, so do them!!

Friends of my have triplets. Every year they have 4 parties for the children. One on the birthday, for the grandparents, uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces. I know how you feel 😂😂 I have 5 kids and 10 grandkids (so far) I was an only child and I always wanted to grow up and have a big family. .I think I went above and beyond 😂 4 of my 10 grandkids have a birthday within 8 days of each other... so I'm broke in January and February 😂😂 I told my kids NO MORE BABIES BORN IN JAN OR FEB PLAN THEM IN ANOTHER MONTH😅 my Willow turned 4 Jan 29th my aka Bubby turned 3 Jan 31st My Lexington turned 11 Feb 1st & my Ember turned 8 Feb 5th So IM EXSTREAMLY BROKE RIGHT NOW😅😅😂❤ but they are so worth it !! I'd much rather have them and be broke!! ❤❤❤
