George Jones was a country legend singer songwriter from the 50's-80's. He struggled with alcoholism & drugs during his life. He was married at one time to fellow country music singer Tammy Wynette & they had some great duets together. He had so many hits such as "White Lightnin'", "She Thinks I Still Care", "We Must Have Been Out Of Our Minds", "Love Bug", "Things Have Gone to Pieces", "The Race Is On", "My Favorite Lies", "I'll Share My World With You", "Take Me", "A Good Year For The Roses," "If My Heart Had Windows", "He Stopped Loving Her Today" & many others.

I really enjoy your reactions. It really is so nice to watch someone enjoy something you enjoy. There’s a connectivity there. My Daddy was a country boy, listened to Willie and Waylon and the boys. He sounded just like Waylon when he sang. I can still hear him singing Luckenbach Texas in my head sometimes. Only thing his Alexa ever did was play Waylon Jennings or Johnny Cash. Lol.

One of the nick names given to.him was The Royals Royce of Country Music. In the last years of his life he was also referred to as the Greatest Living Country Artist. There is no mistaking his voice. He had 160 chart singles during his career.

Love anything that George sings. His voice is so smooth and rough at the same time. Don't know who is harmonizing with his.

The old country music songs just sound so much more heartbreaking than the new hot country music. I'm sure it's the clarity of the voices and the instruments without any computer tweaks. Just straight talent. Great reaction Craig. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

Well no kidding you're impressed George Jones was the King of country music.His best music was from 1968 to 1990 in my veiw.Tammy wynette was the queen too.

Love your reaction to this song, George had a way of pulling us right into the emotion of the song. George and Tammy sounded amazing together and she had lovely voice, so I think the female singer is Tammy Wynette.

the background singers are listed for the album it was on, called "I lived to tell it all" on wikipedia. i do know the lady doing the high "oooooohs" around the 4 minute mark is Millie Kirkham who also sang those high soprano notes on his song "he stopped loving her today"

Hoyt Axton, the most underrated country singer, "Della and the Dealer", or "Evangelina" or "Wild Bull Rider". All three of these songs were very popular.

I bet you could almost replace every word of this song with every word of Vern Gosden Chiseled in stone. The music is identical. It's literally the same music with different lyrics.

Another classic country singer: Radney Foster....I know you review "Went For A Ride", another good one of his off the same album is "Old Silver"....the guitar accompaniment is awesome. Another good song of George Jones is "Two Story House", duet with Tammy Wynette.

I consider you to be one of the best YT reactors out there. It is too bad you limit yourself to the absolute worst music America has to offer (country western). I will continue to subscribe for the occasional “country rock” reactions. The Janis Joplin reaction prompted me to subscribe. But this country shit is some real suck ass music.
@deeannaestep93752 жыл бұрын
Fred Jennings with all due respect you represent just one person's opinion. Country music is just as special to me and most of the sea of commenters on this channel as your "country rock" is to you. And quite obviously is special to Craig as well. Occasionally he plays songs I don't care for as well, but it's not necessary to be insulting. Just move along and wait for the next one.
