I was convinced one of them was a steelhead because it took off on a crazy fast run. They certainly can be fun, especially on a slow day, where nothing else is biting.

How is the nova float reel? I'm looking into getting the 5.5. Any idea if it's type 2 or 3 anno?

I like mine. I have the tirianna 5.5 wich is discontinued. The N2 is the new version wich I believe is lighter and smaller. Here are the specs for the n2 Nova N2 5.125" Center Pin Reel The reel features a sleek modern look with some old school attributes. The wiper clicker recessed into the back plate was an old school design that we thought was the best for this reel. We use Marine Grade Abec 7 bearing which are pressed into a Hub, rather than into the spool its-self. Making cleaning and maintenance much easier. @@runawayjim6350 generally at least 6 inches and usualy not more than a foot and a half 2 tops. Tied right to the inline.

Do you by chance know anything of steel head in the pigeon river? Next to black and sturgeon. I fish them all the time, and I know for the pigeon steel head would be closer to mullet before the dams. I’ve never tried to fish for steel head there. and if u get back to me could it somehow be privately.

It’s always tempting to keep the hens for eggs because brown trout eggs are so good. I definitely prefer to see them swim away though. Good luck!
