@aaronblount39995 жыл бұрын
@@robshaw3655 there are rules? It's my understanding that carp are pretty much the cockroach of fish. I've caught one that had an injury on it's back from some predator, that should have put it down for the count, yet it was healing and the fish was fighting just as hard as one of the same size without injury....

Hi Graham and Mike I've been watching the channel for a couple of years now, I'm a novice angler ( at the age of 35 I wish I started sooner) I love the content and advice that you give but I think it would be awesome if you took an amateur angler under your wing, that way when you give advice you can teach your apprentice while making your videos which will show beginners such as myself how your tips and techniques work in the hands of an amateur, I think it might make a cool series

We’re all for saving money but i think the amount of hook pulls could be down down to your re use of hooks, no point saving money on line or hooks! Sticks for rod rests and the grass as a chair won’t affect your catch rate, but those old blunt hooks definitely will! I myself did this and I needed to make this change, great videos I watch them all!

Hi Graeme, great vid again though i do have one request! go down to normans bay at some point and say when so i can come down and chew your ear off for guidance! I did my first ever beach fishing session the other week and it was great fun and intend to do a lot of it but i need a lot more hints and tips from the master even though i have binge watched all your videos recently to try to pick up all the tips. i think my biggest flaw is the method of actually reeling in the fish. like how much pressure should i be giving the fish? Obviously I dont want to go STRIKE wheel wheel wheel STRIKE wheel wheel wheel STRIKE because i'll rip the fishes lips off but i am just unsure how to maintain the pressure without going too far if you know what i mean? any help or video suggestion would be great
@atlantic_fishing_pursuits5 жыл бұрын
Personally I use even pressure for all fish, if they are bigger always take more time amd take it easy cause theyre stronger and the chances of losing them due to big head shakes is bigger and always give a good hook set at first after that its just hold on and reel!! For smaller fish you will know its smaller so you can apply more pressure, main thing to always remember is keep the line tight and rod tip high so you lessen the chances if losing a fish!! Also its all practice really mate,good luck!!

Re my previous comment. Of the two fish I caught one died as the hook had gone right through the Gill and I guess a combination of blood loss and shock killed it, the other one I couldn't get the hook out so I cut the line and let it go. I'm not happy thinking I'll hurt/kill the fish, can you give me some advise on handling them and removing the hooks please...or a new video would be great?
@codeslag5 жыл бұрын
If it's small fish that you are deep hooking like small perch I'd suggest using bigger hooks. Always use barbless hooks and get a disgorger. Deep hooking can occur if you don't strike quickly enough, look to use self hooking rigs like a bolt rig, if it's happening when you float fish you're over depth
@mrlollipop71325 жыл бұрын
@@codeslag Hi and thanks for your comments. It was actually a Bass (only about a 1lb), I think basically I left the line out too long as I was also using a spinning rod to lure fish, so I guess the fish tried to swim away and the hook got caught on it's gills. I always do use barbless hooks, and I've now got myself some long forceps, so hopefully if I retrieve the line sooner and fish with each rod alternatively I'll be ok? As a matter of interest does offsetting the hook help? Thanks
