Some years ago going home from my euro trip, I drove from Munich to Oslo. I started 6 in the morning and arrived just before eleven in the evening, that's about 1800 km. No problem in my 335i, BMW makes some seriously nice seats!

Love those road trip stories. Joe, you showed us in the first review how good the 8 series was. In a real-life situation, ie 12 hours trip, it seems like the best car in the world, or close to it.

I did London to north Cyprus in 6 days. London,France,Belgium,holland ,Germany ,Austria ,Italy Venice . Then Greece ,Turkey and then north Cyprus Kyrenia . It was in an rx8. I'd love ve to do it again.

I always run Waze alongside the car nav, the 8 series runs BMW operating system 7

Hey joe, great content... 👍 the 8 series lane assist / cruise - is that new to the 8 series of have they nicked it off the 7 series. I live near you I think you smoked past me in the 8 series the other day - I noticed car straight away as the new 8 - first I’ve seen on the road - very smart

Hi Joe, had AP on my Tesla for a while now, whilst it si good for what it is, I don’t use it that much as well, I like to be in control when I am driving so I constantly watching the car and what it does and if I think its road position is right etc … which can be more tiring than driving yourself. If you haven’t driven a Tesla, id suggest you do - BMW it is not, but I would suggest that the AP is better than the BMW Autosteer etc. Tesla lights are poor, something they really need to address. For continent cruising whilst the eight is great, surely your 7 woudl be a better choice, loved my E38 750i, road going concorde :-)

Haha I wish mate, I genuinely wish they did supply something like a M2 comp for a petrol head trip, people could rotate and use it for a few hours of each day... Far better than what they do with some of their long termers 😏
