UK was Always a separate thing, so you get another things than others.

@@lollypop9580 No, we dont get other things at all. We get the adverts showing the Euro spec car and cool looking interior. We think, to ourselves, Yeah id like to buy one of them...We go to Audi UK and configure the car and we get black interior with no options. We don't get "other" stuff, we just get less stuff. Which makes NO sense, the car is built in Germany anyway, so what difference would it make to them? NONE. Right now, cant even order an RS3.

I did a 2400mile euro trip to Swiss alps in late September. In my c63 estate with a roof box. Thule said do not exceed 130kph but I went 210kph and chickened out lol. My Thule vector box actually is really good with the aerobars, not much noise until 75mph, I would not notice it when I drive under 70mph. It was so much fun to drive the Furka pass and Susten pass, I would go back in summer days again. Great video as always and loved the unicorn 😂

I did the same trip for Christmas with an Audi A5 but I did drive through Belgium & Germany since you don't pay any motorway fee. You were lucky to find so much snow because over the Christmas period in Kunertal Glaisher & Solden area very close to where you are staying in Austria was no snow at all.

RS6 is a beast, no doubt. That is a Thule roof box, statement from them is that you shall not exceed 130km/h, obviously faster works 😁

Great video featuring a glorious car. Not much of a "saver" at £300 for the crossing. Use of the paper map is quite Metcalfe-esque, very illustrative all the same in painting a picture of the journey. By coincidence I also spotted an Isle of Man Green M3 Touring in the much less snowy location of the A3. Looked to be a BMW UK car. Looked great. Lovely colour. Thank you.

Remember seeing this cars great great great grandfather, 200 Quattro avant with 5 pot turbo in the ski resort I was visiting with family. My dad and I walked back to flat from where we’d parked car, road had easily a couple of inches of snow. Guy driving was giving ice full Walter Rhorl epic. No traction control to switch off, just lock the diff and go!

Nice video. So true about the power. It boggles my mind that people get so caught up in tiny little differences like .1 slower to 60. Was really nice to see the RS6 next to the M3 touring. Really had no idea that the M3 was so ugly, but that really confirmed it. Maybe someone will offer an aftermarket solution for the grille.

I’ve a bog standard A6. Bought a box and bars to travel to the UK from Ireland last summer. Did a trial fit and drive and noticed the noise wasn’t comfortable at all. Saw a few videos online and tried them out to see about reducing the noise. 1: Get some cord and wrap it around the front bar. It will disrupt the air. 2: I went to a DIY place and got some pipe insulation large enough to wedge between the roof of the car and the box. Enough for the width of the bars. Kept in place with zip ties. Didn’t completely cut out the noise but really did reduce it. Wasn’t a problem doing 70mph on motorways either. Still got 43mpg for the trip over and back. 2011 A6 C7 2.0TDI.

Eurotunnel. I know you like the non-alloy destroying carriage; but have noticed big price differences between the double decker and being in with the vans. A fiver difference sometimes, others up to £50. Great vid as always.

Awesome video, very inspiring. Regarding the roof box, the all too tall roof rails are too blame. Some low profile Thules would reduce wind noise quite a bit. Another less clumsy and more aerodynamic roof box would also improve noise.

I always wonder how fast can I go with a roof box, they’re rated at 130 km/h, but I’ve been in a car at 200 km/h with one no problem, but some fall off at 170km/h, when you do over 210 km/h and accelerate flat out in an RS6 then to the already huge air resistance you add the acceleration force. I’ve seen people on the autobahn loosing their roof boxes, don’t encourage this please. That’s a huge risk and insurance may regress any costs to you if something happens depending on their policy

M5C is a bit faster and rides a little more rough compared to the RS6. The engine and exhaust noise emitted through the stereo is much more natural sounding in the RS6. I think the M5C sits a little bit lower and don’t think it would be as good in snow.

As an M5 (F90) owner, I ask myself that all the time. If cost was no object (you can pick up an M5 used for a lot less than the RS6), I just don’t know. Love my M5, it’s ferocious, refined, discreet and the absolute boss. But that RS6 looks and sounds better to me and does seem more special - in terms of visual charisma, I think you need the M5 CS to get close. Never driven one though.

@@PrinceBarin77 I agree that the RS6 sounds better, but I prefer the looks of the M5. Personal taste I suppose. In theory I'd struggle to make the choice, as I adore practical fast cars. But a used M5 is just cheaper than an RS6... so that's what it would boil to in the end (for me). Plus I imagine it does handle better.

@@g9icy The M5 handles really well for a car of its size. It doesn’t feel as point to point sharp as the F82 I had previously but I think that is because it is so much more surefooted and possibly because the added interior plushness hides the pace. But it is still a firm ride (fine for me but less fun for passengers on a b road or inner city speed humps!). I think I need both. The M5 for the drive and the RS6 for the longer family drives 😂
