I’ve had my drz400e for about a year now, awesome bike but I’m still getting the hang of it on tough tracks, in the nicest way possible it encouraging as to see you blokes stalling, sliding, having the bike jump left right and centre, breathing shakily, dropping the bike and most of all walking down the tough sh*t and still having a great time. Great vid. Edit: the more I watch to more I relate 👌 great job

This video just sold me on the drz400. I was looking at both the crf250l and the wr250 and seeing this changed my mind. I thought maybe the smaller displacment and newer technology (fuel injection) would give them an edge on the trails. The drz is such a tractor. Way to make complex trails look easy.

It is unstoppable! That short stroke piston will fire even if the sparkplug was the other side of the road! So forgiving, you can go too slow, in too high a gear and that beauty will keep turning over so you can get going again. When all other bikes have stalled, from 2 strokes to GS1200s. Nothing can remain firing like a DRZ400.

I had a drz 400 and had the same problem of just being a bit to short. Because they are so heavy sometimes its easier to to drop it then save it from falling. Also a tip i was given thay helped me a lot was to stand up as much as you can when going up hills, it just got the weight up a bit more on the rider and not the bike.

Pretty gnarly rocky trails. The main thing I see is this guys need to try to keep their feet on the pegs load up rear wheel for traction. Trials style on put foot down when needed. Flailing along sitting on the seat with feet flying everywhere means lack of control. Some of it was so rough there’s absolutely no choice, but some stand up pick your line and ride the bike through it. I’ve ridden for 100 years though so it does take a while to get comfortable especially on those heavy dual purpose bikes.
