I would not normally soak a tufted rug as it degrades the glue and the backing comes apart but i had no choice with this rug. The backing had delaminated anyway and it was the only way i could have tackled some of the set in stains. The backing will be replaced. The rug was soaked for 24 hours in a cleaning solution.

Damn a game where the viewer of these vids gets to clean the rug and make that transformation is pretty brilliant, I'm surprised no ones thought of that before.
@SharonYoung9 күн бұрын
I now have a revised mental ranking for "which is harder to clean". Flat < shag < thin < thin with loose/delaminated backing. Dang. Watching that was almost painful: you can't do any of the things you would need to do to get out heavy staining/dirt because the thing is too thin to withstand tougher scrubbing (even Dirt Reynolds almost tore it apart at the beginning), and the delaminated backing meant every time you tried to saturate it, you just got a middle finger from the air pocket between the loose backing and the soiled top. Yikes. Herculean effort with this one.

It could be turmeric! If you spill liquid turmeric on a vinyl floor it will leave a yellow stain regardless of how long it was on the floor! I work at Costco and the demo person who was featuring turmeric got bumped and a couple of the little sample cups fell on the floor! Cleaned it up right away but still left a yellow stain. The stain is still there months later and they clean all the floors with the zamboni scrubbers multiple x's a day!!
