My Brother had an idea to make these doors long time ago and we finally did it!
The doors were simple and ugly looking and they needed some improvement so we decided to make them EPIC!
We used pine, MDF and plywood with hot glue gun, some nails and a lot of work :P
I hope you like it !

Amazing. I was planning to buy rustic wrought iron fake hinges to beautify my boring front door but was also getting concerned about the maintenance and keeping it rust free. You have provided the perfect solution- make those Celtic designs out of wood and make it look like metal with some paint and hammering. Thanks!

Those hinges would last forever but they are also costly 🤘 this was for workshop which wasn't ours and since we got kicked out we are happy that we didn't invest more time. I had to break these doors though.

An amazing piece. Have you thought of maybe trying to cast some parts in aluminum? I imagine brass would be to heavy but a lot of it would feel more real then wood and the texture from casting may be better. Still amazing and gives me thought for my daughters new bed and dresser she wants.

Absolutely amazing and beautiful work. I can honestly see the techniques and design you made for door in a play that is set during Renaissance or if there’s a scenes in a castle. The techniques, designs, and how you made things will definitely cut back loads of time and also make the door not as heavy. Plus if someone wanted they can make two sets of doors that open like barn doors that open outwards with how built the door.

That's a really nice job. I did something similar but didn't have the metal door to buld on so I used a panel of marine grade OSB and covered it on both sides. Yours is a classic.
