you mention the intake from the downpipe but there is no mention of a safety outlet pipe when it does overflow? when i dug my pond i put it about 6cm at the highest part of the pond i like the down pipe idea i normally just fill it when it gets low (which it does in summer here in adelaide a few times in the season) from the rainwater tank

The down pipe didn’t end up working and it’s never even gotten close to overflowing with normal rainfall. If the down pipe worked I probably would have done an overflow back into the storm water.

It seems like you made the mistakes on purpose. Its pretty entertaining to watch. There are hundreds of videos on KZbin to teach you how to build a pond
