4:21 a priceless moment 😂I was one of the Kickstarter backers for Squad all those years ago, somehow I never ended up playing it much. The same applies to PS, not Squad44

No way, did you notice when you use the sniper rifle, your guy pulls the scope back in place after each shot? I have never seen that simulated in a game before

Does anyone know why the reload animation on the Springfield includes pulling back the scope after cycling the bolt? It kind of looks like the whole scope slides forward in its mounting when you fire. Is that something that happened historically? Also, it feels like there are way too many living plants and greenery for an Iwo Jima map to be honest. Maybe it's a balance issue or something (or lack of variety in the scenery) but during the actual battle the island looked like a wasteland after all the bombardment that preceded the landings.

Yes, on the Marine Corps WWII Springfield snipers, the scopes were free floating in their mounts. This was an old school way to help aid in accuracy. If you look up shooting footage of this rifle setup (M1903A1 with Unertl scope), you’ll see that you have to pull the scope back in order to get a proper field of view. The Unertl scopes were used by USMC competitive long range shooting teams during the interwar years and the ones used on the 1903 had a mixed reputation in the field. On the one hand, the scopes were fragile and would fog up easily. On the other hand, the rifles in the proper hands were deadly accurate.
