Cool! We lived in East Liverpool back in 1990, and I was a reporter for the local paper at the time. I think that private area you came upon led to the area around Little Blue Run Lake, which (at least in 1990) was owned by the coal-fired power plant in Shippingport. They had cooling towers that would spray river water into the smoke from burning the coal, which would collect a lot of the particulates from the smoke so they weren't polluting quite as much. This would create a blue-green sludge, which they then pumped into a lake they created, which was Little Blue Run Lake. It was basically a big sludge pond, not a lake in any normal sense. It looks pretty normal on satellite view now, except that the "water" level is really low. My guess is that the road from the PA side is probably access to the runoff creek to monitor water quality going into the Ohio. Did you see the World's Largest Teapot in Chester while you were there?

Interesting… thanks for the info. Yes I’m familiar with the teapot! I should’ve included it in the video. Oversight on my part! 🙄

As a self-described "Geography Nerd", on the autism spectrum, this sounds like something I would want to do. I would want to drive to the northernmost part of the fingertip of West Virginia's "middle finger"

It took me almost to the end of this video to realize... hey, no camper! What's Mike gonna sleep in when he gets to the north pole...of West Virginia?? Do you keep a tent in your gear loft for you and Juniper?

I do have a tent! Been a few years since I’ve used it because the teardrop is so much more comfortable. But I did have it with me when we went to Colorado as a back-up shelter.

Me my fiance and daughter are closing on a house this Tuesday from Beaver PA to new Cumberland Wv. I have a 2022 pro 4x and we live like 6 mins away from Tomlinson state park. Just subscribe! We like the seclusion as well but like am hour from Pittsburgh if you want the city life for a bit. I grew up in north suburbs of Alleghany county and we want to get far away from the crazy city blue pink hair ppl.
