Thanks for sharing. Great photos. Never been to Death Valley. The Milky Way composition was beautiful. What a great idea. My husband watches for camera advice and photos, but I'm about the images. You don't disappoint and keep up the wonderful vlogs.

You did an awesome job with the wide angle landscape shots. I like the sand dunes photos the most. The Alaska trip sounds very exciting :)

I really enjoyed this video, this is an area I have never seen much of and I thought you got some great images. At the 6:57 mark there was an amazing video shot that would have been amazing if it had been a photo. Thank you for sharing and I will try and view some more of your stuff.

Aww you were in Las Vegas, my hometown. And Death Valley is an amazing place. Next time you’ll have to visit Valley of Fire, about 45minutes, like 55 miles northeast of Las Vegas.

I wanted to do Valley of Fire so bad!! Just didn’t have time unfortunately.

It looked like an amazing trip. Great images. I was wondering if you used a cell phone for the walking/vlogging shots because the stabilization was great.

I shoot a lot of waterfalls with my 16mm but I would like to shoot more landscapes as well. Could you please list a couple of challenges you found shooting your 16mm maybe with a brief explanation on how you overcame those challenges. Maybe a good future video. Thanks
@wattswildlifephoto2 жыл бұрын
That’s a good idea! Off the top of my head, one big challenge was finding a way to exclude things. With a telephoto I can easily exclude things I don’t want in the frame by just shifting over a bit or zooming in. But with wide angle, you basically have to just come up with a new composition, because it captures everything. Also, making components in the background appear large. The distortion you get at 16 mm makes massive mountains or dunes just a small hill in the background, and working around how to still convey the grand scale of the landscape was difficult.

As a wildlife photographer there are wild mustang in the eastern Sierra, you may need to hire a guide to find them but may be worth a future visit :)

I also am interested in what lens you were shooting during this trip.
@wattswildlifephoto2 жыл бұрын
It was a Canon 16-35 f/4 that I rented for the trip. I had a clip going more in depth on what gear I was shooting with, but must’ve accidentally deleted it because I couldn’t find it when editing :/
@curtlewis34462 жыл бұрын
@@wattswildlifephoto I saw towards the end it was a 16-35 and you did mention shooting at 16mm. Thanks for the info.

Which lens did you use for Astrophotography? was it the 16-35?
@mrjiggawatt2 жыл бұрын
I was wondering that, too. I'm interested in astrophotography, but I don't have a good lens for it.
@wattswildlifephoto2 жыл бұрын
Yes it was the 16-35, I think I forgot to mention in the video I rented it for this trip.
