Thank you for taking us out with you. Great job all around. I have been fly fishing in mostly rivers and streams for mostly trout for most of my life. I have finally committed to fishing saltwater. I'll be focusing on fishing from the surf for the most part. I live in NY so I should have some good opportunities for Striper fishing. I have started studying and aquiring the equipment ( line, flies, 8wt Rod etc). Those bait flies you tied look to work great. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Go two hours before and after a tide change near points or river mouths. Stripers lie in similar spots as trout do it's kinda cool. If you got the cash spring for a guide. I struggled for 2 years trying to catch stripers before I figured them out

@@BendItFishing maybe in the Spring I'll take your advice and go out with a guide. But since it's Fall ,figured I'd go out a few times and give it a try. I don't have any real expectations of success lol I've fished freshwater for 20 years so I'm use to that lol Thank you for your time

This will be my first year going for stripers up in the hudson river near hudson. They come up the mountain streams gives it a different feel.

I am looking to start fly fishing for stripers in my mid-atlantic region. What size flys do you typically throw for stripers? Very cool video, the fight with the 27.5" looked awesome!

The flies that I use in the video are 1/0 white ep fiber bait fish. Maybe total 3 inches. They feed on small bait till mackerel and bunker come around
