The craziest part of this is that you did it on a R NINE T! This just goes to show you can have an awesome adventure on almost ANY motorcycle. It doesn't just need to be a big cruiser or ADV bike! Awesome video man. Thank you for making this!

Thank you! I was wondering if the 10x acceleration would work - that is pretty fast to watch. But anything slower would have been to much footage to deal with. Even with 10x, I had about an hour video per day to reduce to 2 min. I thought that would be easy and fast, but actually took me more than a day to process. The processing took more time than the trip. So I am really happy people like it!

A coworker and i did all 48 states and 5 provinces in Canada back in the 80s. Did this over a 10 years period since we only had 2 weeks vacation a year and wanted to take our time. Truly memories that will last a lifetime, like the night camping in Monument Valley, when a horse near the tent started snorting and I pulled open the flap, turned on a flashlight only to be looking at two red eyes, and a low growl that said you better turn that off and mind your own business. When you’re eye level with a coyote you better listen! I rode a BMW R80 RT and he rode a Goldwing. So hot in a Nevada desert when we stopped to eat OUTSIDE we started throwing water on each other to cool off, only to be bone dry a mile down the road. So cold in Yellowstone we couldn’t tie a fly on the fishing line, only to be rescued by a next door camper with coffee and lighter fluid to start a fire, and yes we did catch a Trout. MEMORIES don’t get me started.😊

Great ride! One for the books for sure. So, to clarify, you bought the BMW for this trip then sold at the end? If so then the cost difference you lost on the bike…$4400 plus $4.3k+ for hotel, gas and food…doesn’t this now come to $8700, for the 23 days? That would average $191/day cost for the bike. You can rent a tour bike, that would hav hard bags, maybe a fairing with music, cruise control for $130-$150/day unlimited mileage 🤔 Man, your journey definitely brought back some memories from my own rides…again, epic journey, can’t wait til Spring to get back on my horse. 😃 Hotels can add up…on my last CAN/US …mainly US I didn’t book hotels ahead..just drove until I wanted to pull over for the night, instead of the big chain hotels $$ would look for Motels..and ones that had a lot of bikes parked at them…always great prices, met so many other riders…clean/service my ride, had a beer, some conversation, then hit the sack for some rest.

The first trip I did with my R9T was San Diego to San Francisco and my but killed me. But the AIRHAWK air cushion made all the difference in the world. 10-12 hours riding was fine. Thank you for sharing your trip-- and with such detailed information! I am curious about the bike: Did you know prior to flying to the states that you would get that make/model? Did you communicate with a dealer ahead of time, or just walk into a dealer and see what they have on hand? Did you consider bigger bikes like the RT, or rather just keep it smaller/simpler. Financed it? Paid cash? Sorry for the silly questions, just curious how that worked. Thanks again!
