Scanning app is the TCG Player app, available for Android and iPhone. I use an app called Vysor to cast my phone to my PC, then I use Xsplit to capture the parts of the phone I want to show.

The difference for Version 1 and 2 for a lot of Arabian Nights cards is in the colorless mana symbol on top. Some are very dark and hard to see, some are more normal.

Heart was pumping after that first box. 3 Power artifact, and 6 transumate artifact in one clump. wow. You know the lot is good when the piles are all over the place. That much unlimited in a goodwill lot is insane. Rudy's ABU radar must have been going off as you were cracking these paper wrapped bundles of treasure. Congrats on the find!

I have asked the community for their opinion on the value of the crimped Unlimited Counterspell. Hopefully the mods there allow the post. You can see their responses in a bit (if approved). This will be your best option to find the value of the crimped Counterspell among the misprint community. Congrats again (btw, you got that lot from my neck of the woods, which is a haven for Magic [SCGA - South Coast Gaming Association was here - where Scott Larabee got his starting as part owner of that store. Always loved Legends. Such interesting cards. For my 13th or 14th b-day I got a box of Italian Legends I ordered from a company in the back of a magazine (prob Scrye or something like that) for like 235 I think. It was under 250. Im 37 now so it was close to 25 years ago. It was a great b-day. It was an amazing box. I got an Abyss and a Tabernacle, but no Moat(that was my most wanted) but it still was an incredible box. I cant remember too much other than that cuz I used to have a Jade Statue deck where I used both.

So taking in a few facts... • The cards are C L E A N. The only damage is due to them rubbing and bouncing against one another, there is no play wear, there is almost no edge discoloration from handling (though there is some just from age / air exposure) and the white borders have absolutely no dirt or speckling. • There's a paucity of Revised, and zero beta. • The newest cards are Fallen Empires and two 4th edition Carrion Ants (not counting the ziplock bag which is 100% just something that got tossed in by the store). • You did not get any of the "money" non-reprint commons or uncommons from U/R; no Berserk, no Sinkhole, no Ice Storm, no Sol Ring, no Demonic Tutor, no Icy. You did get a bunch of Regrowths, though, a dew copper tablets, and the non-reprint commons. You also did not get any of the cards that were restricted from AN/AQ/LG, except for Feldon's Cane (also no Maze of Ith which is really weird since it's a U2 rarity). You did get a Serendib Efreet though is is, weirdly, the biggest money card from your white bordered stuff at the time ($9 by Inquest #1's measure) • The abundance of Feldon's Canes, Repentant Blacksmiths, and oddball Legends rares is... kinda weird given that fact. Except, of course, these are all Chronicles Reprints. However there is no Chronicles in the collection. So my take: This is not a personal collection; it's former store stock bulk. Probably from a store in the midwest or east coast, given the total lack of beta cards (but not the South or Canada, given the large number of Unlimited and the general lack of revised). Whoever ran the store probably opened a bunch of Unlimited, and had enough bulk from that to not bother doing so with revised. He picked out all the value uncommons (ice Storms, Strip mines, and Mishra's Factories) as well as anything Restricted and not Reprinted (except regrowth, for some reason? Maybe it just didn't move so it got bulked.) The last time this lot was picked through was probably in late 1995, to fish out anything that had maintained some value post-4th and post-Chronicles. I'll bet the Fallen Empires-4th-Chronicles-Ice Age collectability crash inspired this guy to just drop MtG altogether, closet his stuff, and eventually chuck it to Goodwill ages later.

God magic sets used to look and feel so much more special. Legends, antiquities, The dark, Arabian nights, ABU, ice age, fallen empires, etc.. they just used to feel like cohesive and complete sets of art. I feel that magic has been lost and I can’t even describe why.. it’s just different in modern day magic. Like.. the rare cards in old sets used to FEEL and LOOK rare.. they just had an aura about them. I’m not sure how the artists managed to catch that lightning in a bottle, but they sure did.

Don't forget that the Earl of Squirrels is required to recieve a 75% bounty for any card with even the slightest possibility of a nut in them. So your profit margin ain't that great. You might end up with just a handful of almonds.

You can see the difference between v1 and v2 of Arabian Nights by the casting cost symbols. One of two is darker (Version 1 I believe) :)

not quite that crazy, but unlimited is A LOT more rare then revised. Unlimited only had a 5 to 6 times bigger print run then beta. It is estimated there is 17500 of each unlimited rare and almost 300k for revised

@@terryfeynman I remember, I started in Revised and even back then when someone came in to our local game store with Unlimited stuff we were ecstatic - even if we could just trade them for lands or commons we were very happy. I was just surprised as its Sleight of Mind, and I would expect 10x to 20x but 100x seemed like a lot. A/B/U stuff always looked so much better. I always hated how dull the Revised cards are and then you look at something like Fireball in Unlimited and its like a whole different level. Red cards definitely benefitted the most from the heavy saturation.
