Thank you for stopping. Hope you enjoy the video of these gorgeous new corydoras. 👍

I did enjoy the video and the new corydoras. By coincidence, I picked up a large group of Venezuelan Orange myself last week at my LFS. We seem to have so many similar tastes in fish.

Yes, he has a lot of cools things going on, but he wants to keep his fish room private. I respect his decision. Perhaps some day he’ll allow me to video.

Looking forward to getting them in a 40L tank. They’ll like the added real estate. This species schools together much more than my other corys.

Nice cory’s, waiting for the update with the pencil fish. How’s Minnesota, here in Kansas is super cold already lost 2 bettas due to the sudden change. Waiting to next week I’m moving back to Florida so my fish & shrimps will enjoy the warmer temperature.

Never seen them in a tank only in pictures,,wow they kind of look like Splendens a little bit🤔 I have a few c.adolphoi that look almost exact to your c.duplicaris and I love them real mellow fish...I was looking for the juvi pencil and until he moved I had no clue where it was 🤣💜💜🌿

Always fun to watch a master in action! Have you ever kept Corydoras robineae? I haven't had success keeping corys alive for 20 years. As a kid I had no problems, but as I got older and more experienced in fishkeeping (43 years now!), they seem to waste away in a few months. My otos often surpass 10 years - corys... 10 weeks if I'm lucky. I've read all the books and magazines, watched all the right youtubers - I'm doing everything right. What am I missing?? Setting up a few 20L and 40B soon - should I devote a tank just to them?
@TMAquatics5 жыл бұрын
Wow CC, I’ve not had issues with corys, but can’t keep an Otto alive for 10 days, let alone 10 years. Don’t know what to tell you. I guess the first place to start would be your water parameters. I start with pure RO for all my cats, and adjust up or down according to species. Also, many corys like cooler temps in the low 70’s. Never kept C. Robineae but my LFS has some nice adults available.
@catfishcave3795 жыл бұрын
TM Aquatics thank you for your response. I generally run my tanks a few degrees cooler than most, low to mid 70s and warmer in the summer. Don,t have an ro unit yet - been looking at them for 20 years. Maybe it’s time to pull the trigger-a house without a cory is not a home!

The Corydoras eques is my favourite Cory you’ve got there Tom. Got a question for you, what is the difference between the duplicareus and adolfio Cory? They look super similar to me
@TMAquatics5 жыл бұрын
It is said the Duplicareus have serrated edges to their pectoral fin spines, where the adolphi do not. I spoke to several Cory people at Cataclysm who said this is not accurate, but still widely claimed. The black back band on the Duplicareus is also usually much larger than the adolphi. These two species are often mislabeled by exporters and LFS.

I have Julii Cory's in with my three African leaf fish. They spawned too and the African leaf fish found the eggs to be delicious! One of these days I'm going to give them their own tank. But they are such great cleaners it's hard to move them exclamation.

@duriel91435 жыл бұрын
Can you mix different corys in the same tank?
@TMAquatics5 жыл бұрын
Of course, but there is the potential they will hybridize if they are from the same lineage. Corydoras Panda is a lineage 9 species and known to readily cross breed with other lineage 9 corydoras. This is much less common among wild caught species, but it can still happen. Try keeping corys from different lineages.

Are you selling any L134? I'm trying to find a confirmed male and female.
@TMAquatics5 жыл бұрын
Where are you located? I did a count on my L134 and found I had about 12-15 more than I realized. I’ve posted them for sale on our club website. If you’re not in Minnesota, unfortunately I’ve suspended shipping until Spring. Just don’t want to deal with cold weather shipping headaches, heat packs, etc. I may consider an exception if buyers are willing to pay for overnight shipping.

Body shape and the shape of the anal fins. Females are thicker and have a larger body. The females are also noticeably wider when sexually mature. The females anal fins are more round. Males are leaner, not nearly as wide or stocky and have pointed anal fins.
