Thanks! Great improvement. I was able to get rid of some formulas and converted to conditional roll ups.

Thanks Gareth - this channel is becoming my go to on KZbin for Airtable! The permissions feature on fields and tables is nice, but I just don't understand why they omitted permissions per view. That would be a real game changer....that way you can control entirely what people can see (and break).
@GarethPronovost4 жыл бұрын
Agreed on the permissions front - hoping for that feature soon!

Great Update . I wish there is also an update in forms to show calculated or formula fields .
@GarethPronovost4 жыл бұрын
You mean you'd like to see the output of a calculated field in your form when you submit data? That's interesting! I know form software (like Jotform) allows for this, but I've never had a reason to use that feature...
@ziaanwar124 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply. No not after the form is submitted. There was a scenerio where my customers were filling form putting height and width for a particular item , i wanted to show the calculated price based on their provided measurements so that they know the price before placing order .
@GarethPronovost4 жыл бұрын
@@ziaanwar12 Gotcha. Sadly not possible with the native Airtable forms, but definitely something you can do with a more robust form software. Jotform has that function (although I haven't used it) and I believe Typeform does also.

Hi Gareth, About conditional logic features on table forms, i was waiting a lot for this features actually i was asking for other forms apps wich could be integrate with Airtable, but now here there is. But i have a new question, this conditional logic function could be applying in all different tables and not just on forms table?
@GarethPronovost4 жыл бұрын
I think for now, the conditional logic is specific to the form, and a form can only apply to one table in Airtable. That said, you can use a linked field in your form, but I don't see how you would be able to use a lookup in the condition (that is, lookup data in a related table). So, I think the answer is that you can add conditions to your forms so long as they apply to the data that you are collecting in this form and not related data.

Hi Gareth, I was wondering if Airtable allows the user to create dependent fields....let me give an example: If in field 1 I choose "Pizza", Field 2 should only give me as options: "Pepperoni, Cheese, etc" If in field 1 I choose "Hamburger", Field 2 should only give me as options: "Tomato; Cheddar; Garlic" Thanks
@GarethPronovost4 жыл бұрын
Great question - basically you're looking for something to be "conditionally dependent" - Airtable itself doesn't have this, but there's a third-party plug-in you can use to get the functionality you're looking for inside of forms. Check this out for more info: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJDac6aCmb96f5Y

Hi, the issue of access to data in the prefilled forms was solved? You showed it in a past video where the client press X in their name and they can now see all other clients.
@GarethPronovost4 жыл бұрын
This isn't solved within Airtable's native forms - you'd need to use a form software outside of Airtable to be able to hide the prefilled information.

Hi Gareth, Can you please let me know how to create URL Form?

Is there a way to solve a simplex LP in airtable? Similar to what solver can do in excel?
@GarethPronovost4 жыл бұрын
Should be possible to write a script to do that - check out the scripting block (would require a pro plan and javascript capabilities)

Airtable STILL can't grant/remove view access to tables for team members right? For ex I only want my accounting team member to see the accounting table and my IT team members dont get access to that table. All my tables are in ONE base...Currently seems like I have to create the accounting table to an entirely different base to accomplish this.
@GarethPronovost4 жыл бұрын
You can absolutely create a view for one table (accounting) and share it with your accounting team. Then create a view for a second table (IT) and share it with your IT team. These views are read-only, but sounds like it should work just fine!

Hi Gareth, I know how to create a blank form and once it completed, the new record will be added to my Airtable. However, I need some help on how to create a URL form with existing record and that can be updated by anyone. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
@GarethPronovost4 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you want to create a URL that prefills a form with your existing data - is that right? There's a plug-in you might consider using - check out miniExtensions. They can help you with this!
