Great reaction! I love how Dan and Victor do this song. I think (don't know for sure) that Gio did the drums. Hearing his style and how he keeps things not only going, but growing, in all of the songs where I KNOW he's playing, this one makes me feel the same way. As for the song itself, growing up in Alaska, we learned about the Northwest Passage in our both our geography and history classes (before those were lumped into Social Studies). This song was always played (not Dan's version, of course) when the subject was studied and/or discussed. We basically felt like it was a special anthem for US, pretty much the same way the Canadians do. It's still very special to the Alaskans I know. Thank you for the wonderful reaction. HUGS! 😀

Oh yes, we loved it. And with your emotions and comments just brings it over the top. This song is a song I have loved since the first time I heard it many, many years ago. But listen to Dan singing it goes from lovely to glorious. Well that is what he does with every song he touches. Love to you and your family from Norway❤ Ah! I have heard Daniel speak of his great memories of his favorite uncle who chose Canada as a place to live. My Canadian friend considers this song to be the Anthem for her country, even though she chose to leave it in search for a more suitable place to live. I loved it when I found out Dan (and Viktor) did this song. The man who wrote it was an exceptional individual and I promise you'll be blessed by looking Stan Rogers up. A friend turned me onto him almost 25 years ago. Stan Rogers died due to a plane crash. He survived the crash but kept going back into the fiery burning wreckage saving people until it claimed his life. The other two of his that are among my favorites are "Harris and the Mare" and "The White Squall." Look those up. You'll be impressed.

I want to add that while scouring the bins in my favorite used record store looking for other Stan Rogers' songs, I came across James Keelaghan, who was a member of Stan's band. Look for "Kiri's Piano" and "Wide Missouri Waters." They'll all give you chills. They do that to me just typing the names of those songs.
