Thank you🥰 Yes, we love our battery setup. We actually just tested it to it's limits🤣 A week of clouds and rain but still using the AC at night🙈 After a week we ran out of power for like an hour in the morning but luckily the sun finally came back out and charged it up again :) Thank youuu!!!! This area was just so beautiful🥰

Just a quick thought, sometimes starter motors overheat and stop working until cooled down. Look for reason eg exhaust heat shield that's missing or needed.
@PatandJele11 ай бұрын
Yeah that's a good idea. We'll look into that :)

Spent some time holidaying around that area about 20+ years ago. Millstream and the surrounding area is REALLY picturesque. DId it in the wet, but wasn't too wet that year. That was in a lifted and dual locked HZJ-75 (old leaf sprung Landcruiser) on 37" rubber. I think my comfort level would have been about the same as yours, but maybe not quite as loud. That area is incredible. Really want to do it again as a part of around Australia in a mog I'm planning (very similar setup to yours but an expandable / collapsible / removable camper pod on the back. Still solid but lower and thinner when traveling. I watched your build vids as you were doing them, Lots of really good ideas. Remember Python pool really well. The rocks look incredible at the right time of day (dusk and early morning). Same with a lot of them rock faces around there. I just dug out some of my photos from around there. Good times! I particularly remember the White Gums in the area (@19:30), they are real lookers especially in the valleys. All the river crossings @20:00 were about 1-2 foot deep when I went though, the area was more green and I stayed almost exactly where you stayed for the night @20:58. That rockface at dusk, amazing. That hole area, amazing. When I was there, them other camp spots where the other 4WD's were @22:17 was mostly underwater. And from memory the camera does not do that rockface justice. Thanks for the trip down memory lane! SPARES: Starter and Alternator, Belts and Pipes, Fluids and Filters, Electrical wire and Cable ties, assortment of common and critical nuts and bolts, Loctite Epoxy Weld Bonding Compound / JB Weld / something for patching Air/Fuel Tanks and Radiator, Puncture repair kits (capable of repairing side walls even if only temporary fix) & plugs, Spare Tubes (if you run them), Fuses. Ratchet straps (amazing how they can be used when something physically brakes). Some Thick Fencing wire (same reason). A few welding rods (your running 24V and 600+ CCA? You can tack weld (sortoff). Some threaded rod of varying sizes and nuts/washers to suit. Flat straps of metal to weld over cracked/broken things. Needless to say you need a new starter solenoid.

Thank you for sharing! Glad we could bring back some good memories. We would love to do northern WA again in the wet. Problem in the Pilbarra is that sometimes the wet never comes and its just uncomfortably hot 😅 Millstream and Karijini would be epic though after some rain. Those spares you listed sound pretty much like what we carry around. We dont have a spare starter or alternator though, but worst case a Mog is easy to roll start and other than the lights there is nothing electrical to them. I think we went almost 2 weeks down in southern WA without a working alternator until the new one arrived. The benefits of and old army truck 😉 we do carry a bit in the sense of air line repair fittings, and bushes. We also have a little MIG welder that we can run off our inverter and battery. As for the starter it is wierd as the solenoid usually clicks when it doesnt start but the starter doesnt make a sound. It also only happens when its super hot out and the engines been running for a while. When we are back in a bigger city we'll check it out if it doesnt go before then.

@@PatandJele Pat, when you get the time, take the solenoid apart. it sounds like the contacts are dirty (carboned up) or not contacting properly anymore. Most of the time solenoids respond well to a clean up of the internal contact. 2 Big ugly blocks of copper. Filing them up would probably help providing there is still enough left of them to make a good solid contact. Mog Central only has complete starters (and only 1 at that) @just over $600 plus postage. Ebay has the solenoids for about $50usd + $27usd postage from USA, making it about $130aud and god knows how long to get to Australia. Not ideal when your on the move! Got a file and an hour or 2? Solenoid itself could also be jamming when hot, could just need carbon cleaning. Lots of possibilities really. :( But does sound like solenoid. Hope it holds up till you get a chance to look at it. All the best with your travels. Hope to see you sometime in the future.

What’s the clear tubing in the cab?
@PatandJele11 ай бұрын
Before we headed north (we knew every day is gonna be 40 degrees), we installed an AC in the cab but didn't finish it yet. So currently the cleare tube is the drain for the Evaporator Unit🤣
