Just like hunting, and inland conservation efforts, every little effort counts for years to come. For every fish that makes it back that counts for something.

Well said! Letting one or two fish float off may seem like nothing but when millions of anglers think the same way it leads to a huge amount of waste. Every angler's actions make a little difference and cumulatively will lead to a huge difference in helping out the fisheries.

Wow, I'm an inventor for 30 + years and that baro trauma invention is the coolest ! I sure miss the ocean, I'm stuck here in So. Utah and grew up in So. California ! I was fishing Catalina Island Ca. one time with a friend and some huge fish was spooling his line and he yelled give me another pole, then he tied it to the 1st pole and threw it overboard ! He was able to retrieve the first pole but then the fish broke his line and got away ! Great show, Thanks G

I paused this video and did the Return Em Right training. It was short, engaging, and well worth it. Lots of good information. I will use my descending device from now on. So much better than venting.

This may be a stupid question but is it a single use tool or does it float back to the surface? I haven't been offshore fishing in more years than I'd like to admit.
@returnemright
@returnemright Жыл бұрын
@@zthegreatandpowerful285 not a stupid question. You send it down with the fish and weight using a dedicated rod and reel and then you reel it up once it releases the fish.

I grew up on the Oregon Coast. I started fishing when I could hold a pole. We had nearby lakes, rivers and, of course, the ocean. I've caught more species than I have time or space to count. Cabezon (pigheaded) are one of my favs, it has always fascinated me that the flesh is green and turns snow white when cooked. I enjoy your C, C and C videos. I was blown away by the descending device (Genius) with attached GoPro in the "INSANE Snapper" video. Since this is my first comment after watching your videos for several years, I'll say I'm drawn to your videos because of your family. Thank you Brook, Victor, Mom, Dad, Brothers, sisters-in-law and friends.

One of the things that make the extended charter boats so awesome at least in So Cal and Mexican waters, is the on board chef. The last boat I went on the chef would run a couple lines and rods and if he caught a blue tuna or yellowtail, he would take em into the galley and slice em up for the freshest sashimi. So good.

Wow I just found your channel today, and I'm totally "hooked".. no pun intended 😂.. You guys are pro fishermen! Brook, you are so strong! I remember one time I went out with a guide, 50 miles out from St Augustine on a company trip. I caught a 35 lb grouper! I thought my hook on was stuck on a rock or something because I could not for the life of me reel it in. One of the guys helped me, and the fight was like nothing I'd ever experience. Thanks for a great video and I really appreciate that you all are conscience forward with releasing. Bravo!

Glad to see a new fishing video, I'm not much on the shell fish and lobster adventures although I do watch them, because I like your channel so much !! I've tried other ocean fishing channels, I think yours is truly the best because you and Victor are always so nice together, and when the family gets involved makes it so much better! "moms a fishing beast!" I also think that the cooking portion may be one of my favorite parts too! you guys come op with some recipes that look delicious !!

We're doing a full moon trip next weekend. Going to 160 ft. Is it deep enough to set the depth to 100 or should it be deeper for the release??
@returnemright
@returnemright Жыл бұрын
If you're fishing 160', I would go ahead and set it to release at 150'. They should be okay at 100', but it doesn't hurt to get them down another 50' to recompress and also release them closer to the structure or school they came from. The end of this day we were fishing 160' and had the device set to 150' for the last two spots.

@returnemright appreciate your help. I'm used to venting but want to change for em. We fish outta ponce and I've seen a decrease in population of quality bottom fish.

We always had a hard time catching keeper yellowtails. We went out with my dads neighbor. Outta cudjo key and he knew how to do it. Tiny weight, tiny bit of squid, drift it back like 150-250 feet into the slick… only time i caught big yellowtails

Thanks for the great fishing and cooking content. Down here in Oz (Australia) I like to brain spike and bleed my fish rather then throw them straight in a fish bin to slowly die. The fish die quickly and if you keep them in an ice slurry the flesh and eating quality is far superior. Keep up the great work.
