Epic Old West Showdown: Arizona Ranger vs Skunk

Ed Scarborough cut his teeth chasing outlaws like Black Jack Ketchum & the Wild Bunch when he was still a teenager. His own father was the legendary lawman who killed the man who killed John Wesley Hardin and Ed would go on to become a deputy sheriff, constable, Arizona Ranger, and according to those who knew him, he was born to a saddle, an excellent marksman, and did not know the meaning of the word fear. Make no mistake about it, Ed Scarborough took down many a sassy bandit over the course of his career. Be that as it may, the toughest opponents he’d ever face turned out to be himself and a rabid skunk. Toss in a little bit of cross-dressing, a shootout with a bicycle, some good ole fashioned homicide and a daring prison escape, and we’ve got what may be the most absurd tale I’ve ever had the pleasure to share. Bring Me The Head of Alfredo Garcia is a movie I've always had to tell others about. I'm so glad someone else knows! Warren Oates was really cool. He almost seemed like that kind of actor where you told him what you needed and then turned him loose. Fun episode! Well done!

Yes it is, the truth is often stranger than fiction. But still not as strange as that guy name Brazel who was involved in pat Garrett murder,then 40 years later the nephew of Brazel is the guy that found ( if you believe in that sort or thing) the Roswell space craft crash site....that is insane.

Once upon a time when I was probably 11 or 12 cruisin back roads with my grandpa and we saw a skunk going down into a brushy bar-ditch. My grandpa pulled over and I step out of the truck with my 10-22 to get a shot, I make it maybe 5 yards into the tall thick grass just about stepping on it, When I first see it it’s lunching and hissing at me, I kick it back but not very far due to the tall grass, and it comes right back causing me to hurriedly back out of there trying to gain a little distance so I don’t shoot my feet. During all this stumbling backwards I think I fired 5 round hitting him in the body twice and as I jumped backwards into the truck once in the head. When I look at my grandpa he’s just sitting there cracking up. The whole deal had my heart pounding, I doubt i gained 3 feet difference from the first time I saw at lung. EDIT…. Did you know that rabies causes a phobia of water? I saw a KZbin short of a guy trying to take a drink and he panicked and when a bit crazy. I didn’t believe it so I looked it up and it is true.

I had a cool thought listening to this episode when ya got to the skunk and possible rabies, You sometimes talk about the different diseases people had back in the Wild West, like Consumption, and many others.. I think it would kinda cool if ya did an episode at some point covering all the different diseases form the Wild West, ya know, like what was Consumption, what kinda cure was there, ya know that kinda stuff, and maybe even list those famous wild west dudes and ladies who had or kicked off due to some of these diseases.
