I've managed to get 2 of the tokens...got the Breen Dread and Carrier...really enjoy messing with the carrier, and I'm irritated that they don't keep up the way to link accounts with Epic because an easy other would be nice to add, and it seems like they didn't want money there... I want the other 2 Breen ones to complete the double breen sets because I'm finding the carrier awesome. (The set from the 4 breen ships, and the Breen ship equipment set from the Defera missions which have extra abilities when on Breen ships are great options, though I only have the 3 part for the equipment since I don't have the stuff to get the winter part, and 2 of the consoles).

I have been in sto since day one of its release on pc And ps4 ,I have opened a total of 900 and I have never gotten a ship either on pc or ps4.

Randomly got an epic out 62 boxes. I just wanted Phoenix upgrades 🤷‍♂️ This vid saved me a ton of headache though, and now I have the Domino console.

The one thing that bugs me about STO is account unlocks vs character unlocks. I have a token but will most likely never use it. I have one lockbox ship and one lobi ship from the two years of events. Again will most likely never use them. This year I just took the two T6 tokens as they would be account unlocked ships when I use them. For how rare golden tokens are and how weak some of the ships are. There is no reason to have them as 1 character only ships. Just hate the way players are punished just because they weren't playing the game at a certain stage.

All the ships in the game are like that except Zen store ships or if you participate in the events. And Zen store ships cost $25 and up for a tier 6 ship. How much did you pay for the Phoenix ship?

I understand sitting on those tokes because they aren't account unlocks so you don't want to use them. However, if you just sit on them then they are literally worthless to you and you might as well not have them. Ask yourself which character would benefit from them most and use it on that character. I know it sucks no getting it on all characters but as is, you basically don't have it on any characters anyway.

@@geoffrogers7590 Those epic tokens only give you ships that were free in events. Since those ships are account wide, all my characters have all of them and I can reclaim them anytime for free on any character, thus the epic tokens are worthless to me. Rather worth two ultra rare tokens. As for the one you got in the bundle, it was the bundle that cost £100, not the token itself. I tend to get an epic token about once in every 500 prize packs since they changed the system. Before that it was super rare, about 1 in every 5000.

Important thing to note when using the *Cold-Hearted* starship trait: Affected targets count as being "Controlled", hence additionally slotting the reputation space trait *Controlled Countermeasures* (from the _Temporal Defense Initiative_ reputation) will net you an extra "+7.5% / +9.4% Bonus Energy Weapon and Projectile Damage against Controlled targets." (Ranks 1 / 2)

You're absolutely correct that it's gambling, as are lockboxes and some other things in the game (including literal gambling if you hate Dabo). I'm gearing up to showcase the game as an accessible, affordable option for disabled gamers -- because you *can* play without a huge cash investment, and the game is actually very tweakable to suit a user's needs. But, gambling addiction is an issue within the domain of what my channel deals with, at least in gaming, so I plan to add a warning. That being said, back on topic! I apparently should have played the lotto, as I did get three epic tokens in way under one thousand boxes. All ships have their perks, but assuming one has nothing, I think there are easy picks. However, I'm of the philosophy that one should always fly a ship one thinks is cool, immersive, and fun. That said, my calls: Bajoran Interceptor (for D.O.M.I.N.O. of course, but I actually also fly it as a good, speedy ship which does well with beams/cannons/combination of), Breen Sarr Thein Carrier (reasonable seating with flexibility, console which benefits team, and desirable trait for me as someone always using hangars), and the Breen Plesh Tral (for Cold Hearted). Alternatively, the Lu'kari Ho'kuun for the console and because it looks neat. Again, these are my base picks if I had nothing and wanted to make my token count mechanically, but I also fly around ships totally contrary to my specializations because they're pretty. Choose what you really want. Honestly, I don't think the ship selection from Phoenix is great in general for the rarity of the epic token, Bajoran Interceptor being the one exception for me personally which has a console people love and which I actually fly (as opposed to just going for a console or a trait as with most of these). It's unfortunate. On the other hand, I guess the Infinity T6 must have a better selection because it takes keys and there's a lot more competition in that box for other things you might win. I've only pulled two epics there. In summary, I think these Phoenix ships generally are not awful, are not fantastic. Phoenix prize packs are very accessible for people who just get dilithium, so it's a decent way of getting some fair ships if you're lucky and without needing to invest heaps into lockbox keys.

Drop rates on pheonix boxes parallels, but does not contribute to, drop rate for lock boxes. So if you've opened a thousand lock boxes on the character you're opening the pheonix box on then you have a one in thirty chance of getting the chase drop.

@@jamesearl389 There has to be some outlying factors we're unsure about. I get random, but I call getting rare drops "reliable" on my Steam based account (not bound to Arc at all) and on my Arc based account... They're so far, as rare as Tubers say.

The Breen Sarr Thein has been one of my main ships paired with the Plesh Tral Heavy Raider it then has 4 frigates as combat pets. All four consoles from all 4 Breen ships. Traits electrified anomalies and spore work great using the eng/intel I then have 8 Science and 1/1 intel/Eng batteries for Cold Hearted and anomalies to work over large groups of enemies.

Thank's for another great video, since I've been playing this game (2016 :D) i was able to win only 3 of those and I've only useed one for wrong ship :D. As per ships available via this token I remember that at least Bajoran Interceptor, Hokuun and Samsar unlocks also an unique warp core (if this feature is not disabled after recent modifications to phoenix boxes). The first two of the warp cores weren't that great but as if I recall corectly the one from Samsar together with other parts of the set, was great for tanking - 4 parts of the set gives exceptional regeneration of hull for player and allies but I'm not sure if it is still the thing. T6 token itself, (in my opinion) starts to look as another obsolette part of the game, except the consoles and traits you mentioned at he end of video. Maybe in the future if there will be added some interesting rewards this will be worth something but nowdays Mudd's market, legendary packs and even T6 coupon's beat this.

I managed to get one of those Denorious-class Bajoran Interceptor's and I'm sure I don't have it set up like you suggested, but for it's small size on the screen, I'm quite pleased with how well it can do in battle (normal). I'm sure it would do a lot better if a DPS player set it up as a meta ship, but I'm not one of those people, but it's good enough for the average player like me, so that I'm not sitting there just waiting for whatever I'm doing to finish.

Thank you for this video, I had been wondering if any of the ships I don't have were worth it and now I know that for me I really do have three totally uneeded epic tokens. Annoying but also good to know. It seems I was either really on it when it came to choosing events or was just super lucky with when I was playing as I have the Bajoran inty the Plesh Tral and the lukari dorito account wide but none of the others (iirc). Of these I used to use the Doritos aoe heal thingy alot as its a do not explode button that rarely fails and I might even add it back in to some builds as I had sort of assumed it wasn't as good as it is now. I rarely use cold hearted as I'm not really that meta in my play and don't always have aux to bat but I now get why its in things like the DPS league build pages so might give it another look. Domino console is on I think every build I have and is the very first console I claim on a new char, Having it account wide for free is huge and its a shame that these tokens are one time as its just a huge grind for all newer players that want one considering this is now only availble via gambling mechanics. Honestly despite my thousands of hours and 13 years of on off play if the game was shut down tomorrow for being a gambling game attractive to kids or something I would totally be like yeah thats fair saw that coming years ago and it fully deserves it for being so blattent a gambling sim. If STO ends for any reason other than horrific legacy code that just breaks I'm sure it will legal problems to do with gambling, so off topic. I used 1 token to get the Breen Chel Boalg as I like the design and am a DS9 fan and would say its a nice ship that flys well and despite being so not a meta capable build is still a powerful ship overall. I even built it wrong with dual beams of random types (best in slot or close to but not matching types) and if you only want to play advanced tfos/events its actually good enough to do quite well. If you only have 1 token don't buy this unless you have the exact same list of unlocked ships I do but if you have a spare token and like the breen look then this is a great ship. There needs to be a NOT gambling way to unlock some of the older things like these ships account wide or at least cheaply as this game is coming to its end of life soon. I mean its 13+ years old and games do not last forever, I am supprised that the Star Trek IP hasn't allready made moves to replace the game as the flagship trek game but I guess it speaks volumes of the mis management of the brand since well the turn of the 21st century frankly.

22:10 Vorgon Ryn'kodan Carrier - FUN FACT ... when it came out it had the most base hull of all ships in the game i really like this ship , not because of DPS, because its a different way of fighting the Carrier Pets lay sooo many fricking mines ... recommendation: get yourself the epic versions yes - it is slow and you really really need the Trait: "Hot Pursuit" (+100% mine range) and the 3of3 Vorgon Console set also helps with flight speed of the mines + the Cold Hearted Trait to slow your opponent down embrace a Healing loadout and you and your pets kill stuff on "ELITE Difficulty" soooo satisfying when ALL these mines crash into your opponent 😀 i even had success in PvP with that, > i just didn´t die , and the pet damage destroyed every opponent until my good friend the master PvP player came around died twice modified himself and killed me every time just with the help of a single Console: Aceton Assimilator >> the pets killed themself including all the mines but still, it was alot of fun

The Vorgon Ryn'Kodan might not have a lot of damage potential in terms of its natural layout. But I think with enough playing around (Tyler's Duality on its 1.625 Hull Modifier, using the Engineering Console slots for Universals that boost damage significantly) It could be excellent.

Curious note about the Vesta consoles: Although you can equip them on any ship now, the 2-piece set of the tier 5 consoles, which sector speed builds may use for the turn-on-a-dime slipstream, does not appear to work when used on non-vesta ships. So you can't put that on a miracle worker ship, which is slightly faster than a vesta, with the longer duration slipsteam, and still turn on a dime...

The Kobali Samsar Cruiser was a main ship for me years ago and it is very Tanky without being geared for a Tank. Great memories of that ship, and its console I use on ALL of my Carriers. Great Hull heal.

Gotten two of these. Got the bajoran interceptor and just saved the other one in hopes they put something else in there i want. I do like the look of several of them but not enough to use them. I did get the interceptor for the console but i do like flying it now and then. I go cannons and it reminds me of a fighter jet.

Just started watching this, and it sounds like it will be helpful. PS. Over all the years of the phoenix pack, I've probably opened somewhere between 20,000 - 30,000 of them, as I have many, many alts, and many, many builds on several of my toons, so I go through an absurd amount of upgrades. I have won approximately 25 or so epics out of that number, but that's still only about 0.2%. I've already claimed the Bajoran Interceptor on three of my toons, because DOMINO, and I know that from a power perspective, that's always the obvious choice for those of us who missed the event. I've also claimed a Samsar on my tank toon, just to be able to play with the full Kobali set and console (not worth it!). And one toon put together all the Breen ships so I can do Breen/Dominion themed builds for funsies. I've also claimed a few Krenim Science ships to complete both the flagship console set and the chronometric polaron sets, and my main grabbed the breen raider back when cold-hearted was still a good DPS trait. But this video should be pretty helpful to choose what I want to grab on the epic I pulled from today's free phoenix box (LOL!)

I've been playing STO since beta and here are two things that have never, ever, happened for me in the game. 1. I have never gotten a ship from a lockbox. That's after using over 4200 keys (all bought as a f2p player with EC) 2. I have never gotten an Epic Phoenix token. I stopped counting the Phoenix ones after 8k as it made me sick.

I do like the looks of the Bajoran Interceptor. Performance-wise though, it barely breaks the top 50%. I use Domino on almost every build. VotP is great, too, though the engine-based weapon is better. If I could sacrifice turning for some survivability with this ship, I might actually use it, sometimes.

The best platform I have found for an epg build is the edoulg because it has both temporal and Intel seating. With these seats, I have 5 separate spore infused anomaly generator anomalies, and including the generators, 5 procs between science and Intel abilities. The bajoran console is an anomaly, but does not count as a generator. If you have the Glenn and it's starship trait, that trait is a nice upgrade for your grav well 3 that you should be using in the build. I use gravimetric torp, and pep tops, along with phaser cannons in front, and phaser turrets in rear, though you could use wide angle phaser dbbs instead, and omnis in the rear. I am currently re-engineering and upgrading science and engineering advanced consoles for epg on both to increase epg, tho unruffled, I am already over 400 epg and 300 control.

As to the Vorgon Ryn’kodan Carrier, CSV build, 5 or 6 isomags, To'Duj Fighters, and SAD. Plenty good enough for ISA if not ISE. You won't due huge numbers - you don't have enough guns - but you'll certainly earn your place.

Also I kind of wanted to break into tanking but I just find that the equipment and the traits needed for it require a lot of EC grinding at the very least. There's also the fact that many of these consoles are or traits come on ships that you can't get by simply buying them. You just have to get lucky.

I have the Vorgon carrier account unlocked, and I was kinda wondering about the 3/5 as a minelayer, the carrier console boosts projectiles and can be used on this ship, it'd be one of my oddity builds though, like my all-turret pilot corvette "Gone Plaid" speed build. Also, regarding the Vorgon ships striped textures, I've often joked with Priority One fleetmates that mirror Vorgon ships would have spots instead of stripes, right?

The big draw of the Vorgon ships is you can color ship their paint job to give them orange and black a tiger stripe skin. Also they are a good foundation for a tetryon build if you don't have one for endeavors, but you kind of need the set.

I was apparently very lucky to get my first epic token after opening around 50 epic boxes, I hear some people open thousands and don't get one But I spent nearly 3 months procrastinating on what to choose, as none of the options really appealed to me, but I eventually settled on the Bajoran ship, which I must admis was fun to play I then upgraded to the Hydra and that's been my only ship since, I love that ship!

CauelSAB I think you have missed a major feature off the Vorgon ships which completely change them. The unique set bonus that gives a +flight speed bonus to mines and heavy torpedoes. Its not even a % boost but a raw flight speed increase that stacks with the % flight speed boosts. This opens up some interesting builds for example a mine layer Vorgon will blow up the target faster than any other mine layer ship just because it hits first. The mines zip all over mega fast. Same for heavy torpedoes it will beat out any other ship with heavy torpedoes because it will blow up the target first assuming both ships are firing from the same durance.

So, the only two general build-types that I don't have a T6 for are Science and Carrier, and I'm REALLY wanting a Science ship. Would you recommend any of them for somebody who is running around with a T4 ship to upgrade to? I don't have enough tokens to pick up a T5 (or the money to drop on picking something up). Also, I think you forgot that some of these ships come with other gear that is not obtainable any other way. The Kobali comes with the warp core for the Kobali set, which used to be the go-to tank set, but is now outclassed by others such as Discovery 4-pc for one specific reason: The Kobali impulse engines are hyper-impulse engines. If you're running a tank build, you probably have low engine power, and low engine power with hyper-impulse is BAD. The Bajoran warp core is now obtainable in the phoenix store, so doesn't apply, but the Dorito has the warp core for the Braydon Reconnaissance set, a four-piece set that is only marginally better than the white mark infinity set that comes on most ships :P And the Krenim Science ship also includes the torpedo that completes the chronometric polaron set. I actually used an epic to get the Krenim Science ship on my Red Forman toon, who of course flies the Annorax, named "The Toyota", *just* so I can run the 'krenim' weapons on the Krenim timeship :P

It's just one more thing I'm hoping Deca looks at and says "what was cryptic thinking" and changes it even if it's just raising the drop rate by a % or two or at the very least given the rarity of these tokens make the ships account unlocks instead of per character. Also I feel like the Vorgon ships are an attempt to copy the Vorlon from Babylon 5 given the skin used on ships look very similar to the look of vorlon ships

I think you may have misjudged the Vorgon Ryn'kodan Carrier. I've been using it for quite awhile as a beam tank. The Elite Vorgon Frigate hanger pets are quite effective. I know you don't have much affection towards carriers, but this is worth a closer look. I am able to play elite TFO's without issue. My only complaint is it's slow and the turn rate sucks.

Anything can be built up well enough to do any content the game has. But some ships will have a much easier time or may have a higher performance potential for various playstyles. For instance with tanking, having a platform with a Cmdr Command seat for Suppression Barrage 3 will lower the enemy damage output making it easier to tank. You can still build an effective tank without that, but when I'm giving advice I'll usually be trying to guide people towards those platforms that make it easier to do X playstyle or are able to be pushed further. As for carriers, I don't mind running them, it's just that I find most of the pets in the game to not perform well or for those that do to have restrictions as to what ships they can be used on. For instance, I would love to run the Romulan Drone Ships on a carrier platform that is able to boost pets up heavily, but am unable to do so due to their usage restrictions.

Honestly when I get epics i never use them on ships - i wait until the phoenix event comes around with the free giveaways and ALSO, more importantly, the ability to trade in phoenix prizes for X upgrades. Because you cannot have enough account ships upgraded to X-2. Having to pick a ship with the latest event is almost a letdown in comparison

I haven't really used Timeline Stabilizer that much in the past few years to be honest. It's not bad, but fallen a bit out of meta I'd say. If you really enjoy the flagship consoles and want it for the set, then it's still a solid option. As for the trait, it requires you to run FBP and pull quite a bit of threat. If you're build is leaning that way, then it's an ok pickup. But for tanking, I would probably take a look at the Hokunn for that Protomatter Field Projector console. It's really quite potent for keeping you and allies alive. Also is insanely good for NPC healing.

I got the T'pau as an acct unlock, its actually a tanky little picket ship. The Samsar is a very tanky Cruiser thats really good for EPS builds. Same with the Vorgon set, which are still more advanced than even the Disco temporal ships. I actually believe they are still the most adanced temporal ships in the game, bar none. - and they look very cool. Their consoles synergise well with Borg gear. Do your research before dipping into the Breen stuff. I actually did them last, on a Klingon Jem Sci Capt. which makes the best use of those ships. I personally prefer the Plesh raider and Chel warships over their Jem equivalents - on that char. But yeah, the Vorgon 3pc should be your first 3 epic token picks out of the lot. Especially if you are a Borg / Engineer. In this way you gain access to a temporal build, with better EPS, and don't have to spec into Temporal EPG, at all! - In fact, I'd say the main use of the Phoenix T6's is to class out of spec. in very powerful ways. I tend to believe that, while these ships are some of the more powerful in their own right; they are locked behind epic tokens so that the more avid players have something to shoot for. They really shine for conversions, and that takes a more advanced knowledge of the game, one gains through playing it a lot. - I'd say thats why its not worth obsessing over them until you get your first epic token. Thats why no one does. 😉 Ps. You can do a lot better than the Bajoran interceptor now. Its console was godly in older builds. Still a decent phaser ship, but I recommend the Andoran pilot ships over them. Best tac ships in their class.

The second reason to get a breen ship is to get all the breen ships, and run Rezzie or Sarra with all 4x Breen traits, all 4pc Breen console set, 4pc Breen cryo equipment set and 3pc cryo ordnance set, on a cap with the breen costume and cryo gear set, with the cryo BOff powers slotted... I totally don't do this... ... ... T6X Sarra with 1x escort hangar, 1x fighter hangar and A2B2. It's really not about being effective, but it is quite fun.

I already played STO via steam and the Arc launcher with the same account when STO came on the Epic launcher. Back then you could link your STO account to Epic and buy the Epic Starter Pack to claim it with your existing account. And other players from my fleet did the same. Did they remove that?

Breen Sarr Theln ... not my favorite ... but there is one little thing about it > 12x Elite Bleth Choas Fighters each one with a "Tachyon Beam 1" no player is able to keep the shields up against them too bad the Sarr Theln has no chance of survial because of the very weak Hull

The only downside is the ship from Phoenix Token isn't account-wide. 7:46 The scout ship isn't bad, just very underwhelming, it's a flying glass cannon that limits your option to choose torp sci build 22:06 The ship perform below average, Both Traits and Console are target-able and easier destroyed with just torpedo spread 1, the bridge setup is bad and i only using it to roleplay as an ISD because of it's dagger design, would be an ok ship if it has miracle worker slot or int.

The only ships in the game that are account wide are Z-store ships and of course these ships are if you work for them during the event. After that, they are no longer account wide. So basically, ships you need to work for through labour or real world money are account wide, while ships like lock box ships and phoenix prize pack ships are not.

I've been sitting on an epic token for a long time, and I have all the good dps ships from playing events. I do not have the Hokuun though. Currently on my tank ship I'm using Overloaded SIF Linkage from the Europa for a panic button, you think it'd be worth getting the PFP?

Yeah, the AoE heal on that is very powerful. Best console for healing NPC allies also, as many of them have large HP values, and that console will give them hull regen that scales with their HP.

I have all of these ships. I use none of them. Some of them are quite decent ships but most are just curiosities. For me now, an Elite token is worth exactly two very rare tokens. Can't even sell the damn things. The best part of these ships is that some of them come with decent consoles or engines, such as the Kobali Samsar ship that has the Kobali warp core and the Regenerative Integrity Field console. The engine has the best Shield capacitor and provides excellent shield repair, and the console has a great hull heal. Plus, of course, you can complete the set by playing the game, and the ship itself is quite good even if it does sort of look like a dong. The Lukari science ship has a great console in the Protomatter Field Projector, it offers a good hull and shield heal. Both the Kobali and Lukari parts together can provide most of the healing you will need. Of course the Bajorian ship offers a decent console as well, and I think it also had the final warp core piece of the Bajorian set. The Kenim Science ship also has a decent console. For the ships themselves, I have found many of them offer a good experience but I personally prefer to stick with fleet ships or other ships. If I had to use a prize pack ship. I think I would go for either the Breen Carrier, the Vorgon carrier or even the Lukari science ship. They seem to do well when outfitted with decent equipment. One thing I have found is that "dreadnoughts" are not anywhere near as good as they should be. The carriers, on the other hand, are quite good. I used the Breen Carrier for over year before I moved onto newer ships. Same with the Samsar although it's not a carrier.

I already have all those ships LOL I could always start an Epic account for STO. I already have several games through Epic. The Bajoran ship was fun to fly. The Rezreth is my favorite of the Breen ships. I still don't like the Kobali ship and the Krenim is a joke as far as i am concerned. . Lukari ship is not as easy as it appears but it is almost useable.

If you're looking for a raptor type ship, I'd go for the Adamant. Is a Defiant variant, but it has a battlecloak and has a much better boff seating.

This is only an estimate, but should be pretty close to fact... I've opened around 450 Phoenix f**k off rip-off boxes (as I like to call all 'random chance' boxes in this game, oh and on the subject; replace the word 'boxes' with the harshes of swear words and that's how I refer to the developer coincidentally!!!) and I've got a total of ONE Epic token! Of course I'm only opening these boxes for upgrades and a small handful of other useful items, but I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that maybe two or three Epic tokens might have dropped within that number. Interestingly, the third or fourth Lockbox I ever opened came up with the top prize! I've since opened probably no more than twenty to twenty five (first for Lobi, and just recently for a specific weapon but out of an unhealthy growing hatred for the developer I chose to stop and just purchased the item off the Exchange). I presume the 'beginners luck' I had is common amongst all players as this would be the most effective way of making anyone believe they have a good chance of success again soon, and would certainly encourage new players to keep on opening them. If it happened to be straight up luck... well unlucky rip-off developers I wasn't hooked! On the subject of 'the house always wins', just out of interest, am I correct in assuming that casinos and other forms of 'legal' gambling are allowed to fix their games to ensure customers rarely win? I've no experience of casinos or real-world gambling so I've no idea. But its absolutely true that gambling in videogames is as contrived and fixed as gambling can get. For me, this is why all gambling in videogames needs to banned across the world. This industry absolutely can't be trusted. If not, at the very, very worst, the code that sets gambling odds has to be viewed by those in authority, third-parties, to ensure that the game's attempts to replicate 'random' aren't fixed. STO is so blatantly in this respect that it's easily demonstrated in Admiralty; set a mission with a success rate of 95 to 99% and see how times it fails, then compare that to the same success rate crafting an item.

Not really. The individual consoles don't really do that much. Some of them are just the old T5 ones with some new passives added. If you could get the other ships cheap that'd be reasonable for a theme build, but as is, you'd be looking at >$100 to get those two other consoles that won't do that much for you.

Yes,but the ships aren't extremely exquisite so I don't think it is even gambling but unnecessary rarity for don't deserve ships. In any case,it's guarantee to get Phoenix upgrade tokens and I believe this is more important than the ships themselves at all. Not: I got all the ships in the past with Epic Token😏
