I still quite enjoy my Vanguard Warship on my JHV main. Slowly opening up some more options for builds on that character, but CSV builds are easy to get together, and the V-Warship just feels good to fly. Glad it got a mention!

I've had pretty good luck with the Mirror Warship once I got it built up properly, as for the lighting, I toss the Terran rep vanity shield on it because IMO it looks better than the standard hull plating options

Another nice Lobi/Exchange option for CSV is the Maquis Raider. It's 5/1, very agile, has Improved Raider Flanking, the Innovation mechanic, an experimental weapon slot, and Uni/MW seating. Its Plasma Storm console and experimental weapon (Phlogiston Projector) are popular items. It works well with the polaron-based Morphogenic Armaments set (mission-acquired, turret is also an omni beam) and aux2bat: BO1/NSB2/MAS2/CSV3 (Tac/MW Cmdr), TT1/APB1/TS3 (Uni LtCmdr), EPtE1/AtB1/AtB2 (Uni LtCmdr), HE1/ST2 (Uni Lt), EPtW1 (Uni Ens).

If you have access to the Boimler Effect Lobi space trait, you can forgo aux2bat, free 3 DOFF active duty slots (Technicians for aux2bat), turn the Ensign station into another Tac one (for SRO) and adjust the Uni/Eng LtCmdr station for better damage and short-CD hull heals and resistance buffs: EptE1/AtSIF1/EPtW3 (Uni LtCmdr), KLW1 (Uni Ens)

My main character is a Legendary Defiant Worship with a CSV-based Plasma build. The only non-primary Tactical (Commander) seat ship I use CSV with is the Legendary Vor'cha, and she's doing pritti well with CSV 2 and THY 2 (yeah, the torpedo is for flavor).

Generally i find ships with lower then base 11 turn rate to turn too slow to be able to use duel and heavy cannons

Anything with less than 10 I won’t fly unless it’s a 2 bay carrier to make up for the hell, concentration required and time required to turn the damned thing in all content.

I don’t see the andorian escorts getting any love anymore. They are an absolute blast and I’ve never had any trouble with getting damage dealt.

I would use ships mastery and maneuverability to decide which is the best ship. Mirror Gagarin-class Warship - free ship, Mirror Constitution-class Warship - promo, and the Fleet Engle-class Strike Wing Escort - C-store and a good runner up with the Hysperian Intel Battlecruiser - free. I have the Inquiry Battlecruiser but it is slow and not very maneuverable. It's a tank.

As MB shows kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z4nJp39qntyeg5I you can have a slow-ass vessel like the Vaadwuar Juggie (base Turn 6) and do well with CSV… so a Turn 11 base minimum is hardly necessary. Great video Spencer… learning to fly cannons is surprisingly a lost art, but the skill is useful in STO (even if you don’t fly cannons). Canon-wise, new Trek shows have more cannon -like effects (Discovery/Picard)… so, maybe there is hope.

Fleet Norway is my go to and noticed you did not mention the Penetration Specialization known as Constable. Current Con and MW Helps me so much, May switch My Lt Com CSV with my Torp Spread at Commander Triple 360 Beam Arrays 2 Aft Anti Proton beam arrays mostly DMG and Acc. DkMtr Quantum and another beam array simular to aft. When I can Wide Dual or if they have wide version Quad Cannons All Anti Proton

The issue with Constable is that it requires your target to be alive for a while in order to see that max benefit. That makes Constable a very poor performer in normal/advanced content where targets die quickly, and in elite, anything outside of bosses also die too fast to see much benefit from it. If enemies lasted more than a few seconds I would use it more, but powercreep has severely hurt things like Constable.

Yeah, it's in a much better state now with the buffs. Still not the best overall CSV ship, but is much more competitive with other options now.

just swapped my Ferengi Quark Marauder over to CSV build from DBB BO build(which I have been running for a very long time), and..... not sure if I like it more than the DBB BO build. My Temer Alliance Raider CSV build feels more powerful than my Marauders.

Another good option for beam overload Firewheel or Canon scatter Valley depending on your preference would be the inquiry battle cruiser it is a 5-3 layout with a miracle worker and can take a beating you can tank with it not that effectively because it does not have the commandability attract fire however if you run the right trait setup on it you could tank with it I think with it all the time it's a really damn good choice it's kind of expensive but I think it's worth it

I love the inquiry, but the only issue I have with it is a issue with the visual size, the physical scaling of the ship just bugs me, technically its size should be somewhere between intrepid and odyssey but in game is virtually the same size as the intrepid, it just bugs me I don’t know why but it does

The Husnock can do CSV fine, but is more suited towards single target DPS options like Beam Overload. When I get around to the BO vid, you'll see it quite high on that list

What about using Entwined Tactical Matrices instead of Withering Barrage? You get 100% uptime on CSF (even if 50% of that is rank 1), but you get so many Torp spreads which I would think would make up for time spent using rank 1.

You can do that, but ETM will only give you CSV1, and you will need to time your TS correctly. WB will just straight up add 4s to the duration of any rank of CSV you're running, so WB is going to be easier to use and offer more performance as you can extend CSV2/3.

So can scatter volley do fine on its own? @casualsab or is gravity well kind of needed I've not ever gotten one I'm assuming it's a exotic. I always been curious on scatter volley and the setup to get solid damage for my cannons.

Yeah, it can do fine on its own. The GW can just make your life easier when going against large groups of targets. I plan on doing a budget CSV build in the near future

Yeah, if a ship works well for CSV it should also work well with CRF.

The galaxy platform ships really does not do well narror firing arc cannons. At the point of using usisng 180 degree singler turret i reather go with beam weqpons on galaxy class ships expecially the galaxy dreadnuaght

It really depends on what you are trying to get out of any build. If you are only focusing on ISA, or ISE, any variation of the Galaxy or Galaxy Dreadnought do very very well in those.

Both the Hydra and Dhailkhina are great in their own ways. When I go into Normal/Advanced with CSV I usually just take my Hydra. For Elite I have a Plasma setup on my Dhailkhina with the new Isomag eng consoles that has been doing very well in that longer duration combat environment. Gonna be working on a build vid for that soon!

Whats funny is.... WHO the fuck cares ? The weakest ship you can build is enough to beat the game. You need then... longer to kill stuff :D Hurray.
